Rockport Middle/High School
Viking News - The Week of 11/10/2025

The Week of December 1st, 2025
Happy Friday, RMHS Students & Families,
The week was short, but mighty 💪! The RMHS students came together in a variety of ways this week, with the high school students attending class meetings to plan for important upcoming events this past Tuesday, and then coming together for a Student Council/Peer Leader-led games in the gym on Wednesday before leaving for the holiday. Middle school students gathered at Assembly this past Tuesday to talk about gratitude and kindness, and ended the week with a variety of class-led activities that embraced the season of giving.
As we continue to promote school spirit throughout December, Ms. Rose will be initiating surprise theme Fridays! Themes will be announced on Monday of each week and emailed out by Monday evening to give students and staff time to prepare your outfits! Stay tuned for next week's theme to come on Monday, December 1st. If you have ideas for themes, please feel free to send them my way so I can add them to the drawing 🙌!
Happy Thanksgiving to RMHS students and families. I hope you take some time to step away and relax with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday, December 1st.😊🦃
Here's to a great week ahead!

For Your Long-Term Planning - 2026 Mid-Year Exam Schedule & Expectations
The middle/high school schedule will be adjusted the week of January 20th - 23rd to accommodate the high school exam schedule. All students 6-12 will attend school all day with slight adjustments to the regular schedule. High school students will be able to leave campus after C block on Friday if they have fulfilled their exam obligations. If not, they will have the opportunity to make up exams during that time. It is important for high school students to plan to be in school and on time that week to fulfill this academic obligation. If students are absent for any reason, they need to contact the classroom teacher, along with the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal to arrange for the make-up exam. Please click the link below for more details on the 2026 schedule.

Attendance Update
Being in school and on time are extremely important to your child's success. When students attend school regularly and arrive on time, they stay engaged in their learning, build strong relationships, and develop solid study habits. Please help us by making sure your child gets to school on time each day. The cafeteria and library are open at 7:00 am and free breakfast is available in the cafeteria for all students. The main hallways and classrooms open at 7:25 am.
Students with more than three unexcused tardies in a quarter will be required to make up the time on learning after school. Mr. Parisi sent a notice to impacted students and families this past week and students will be expected to make up the time beginning on Wednesday, October 15th. Students are also ineligible to participate in after-school activities if they are chronically tardy. We appreciate the family support in making on-time attendance a priority.

For those students not able to get to school early on any given day, we will provide a set time in the morning to be sure breakfast is accessible to all. Breakfast and lunch continue to be free for students this year.

This includes the use of the tennis courts, track, playgrounds, athletic fields and all other parts of the campus.
