Rocky Point Weekly Update
December 7th-13th
Hello Rocky Point Families
Thank you for a great first week of December! Our teachers are continuing to work diligently to provide high quality instruction from bell to bell as well as review informal assessment data to help students master all concepts being taught. We have seen an uptick in negative behaviors this past week. Just as we are doing at school, please have a conversation with your child about your expectations for positive behavior choices at school in order to maximize learning and increase acts of kindness.
We are looking forward to seeing Kindergarten through second grade families Thursday evening for their winter concert!
Science Fair
Please remember if your child is submitting a science fair project completed at home for our school science fair, it needs to be submitted tomorrow, Monday, December 8th. Our school science fair will take place on Tuesday, December 9 with three finalists moving on to the district competition in January. Science Fair projects will be up for families to view during our upcoming winter concerts.

Let’s work together to collect as many pop tabs as possible!

Million Minute Reading Challenge And Homework Expectations
Our reading challenge at RPE in conjunction with the PCS Million Minute Reading Challenge is ongoing. Please make sure to complete your child’s paper reading log each night. Again, we will enter all information into the google form for our school during each student’s media time each week. Please note this time can include independent reading or partner reading with you or a sibling. In addition to this reading challenge, in alignment with our Wit and Wisdom curriculum, short fluency passages are coming home with students. Please take the time to listen to your child read these passages each evening.
Please continue to support students in completing their adaptive practice in their online Freckle program on their Chromebooks throughout the week. Please support your child in completing a total of 45 minutes at home each week in math for grades 2-5 and in reading for grades 3-5.
