Whale Tales
August 2024

Principal's Message
Dear Webster Community,
This week began with our School Leadership Team coming together for the Malibu Pathway Community Showcase at Malibu High School. It was great to stand alongside our partner schools and share all that makes Webster such a special place โ from strong academics to arts, enrichment programs, and our personalized learning environment that truly supports students.
A HUGE thank you to Maribeth, Jacqueline, Wendy, Stacy, and Mike for giving up their Saturday morning to proudly represent Webster and welcome prospective families. Your dedication and teamwork continue to shine!
Our 5th graders also had a unique opportunity this week as they joined students from Malibu Elementary and Malibu Middle School at Malibu High School for a special JazzReach performance celebrating the life and legacy of Miles Davis. This high-energy, multi-media program brought jazz history and American history to life, showcasing Davisโ groundbreaking musical journey and creative impact. Thank you so much to Ms. Johnson and Mr. Vince for accompanying our students and making this enriching experience possible.
And finally โ a quick note about the mysterious ducks that have been popping up around campus ๐ฆ
Itโs been fun seeing the excitement and joy these little surprises have brought to our Webster Whales! While we still donโt know who started the duck adventure, it has quickly grown in popularity โ and weโd love to keep it a happy, positive experience for everyone. To help make sure the ducks stay fun and donโt interrupt learning, weโre asking for your partnership in reminding students of a few simple guidelines:
- Ducks can be found, traded, and shown during recess and lunch
- Students should stay in designated play areas during unstructured time
- Ducks should wait until recess or lunch โ not during class time or bathroom breaks
- Please treat our campus with care while searching
We also kindly ask families to avoid bringing large amounts of duck figurines to school, as it can lead to disappointment if they go missing. Our hope is to keep this a lighthearted, joyful experience that brings smiles โ not stress!
WEBSTER WEAR ๐ณ
