A New Adventure in PE!
We are excited to introduce our new Traverse Climbing Wall to our Physical Education program!
Before students begin climbing, we wanted to give families a look at the rules, procedures, and safety measures we have in place. Safety is our first priority, and students will review all expectations and must pass a Climbing Wall Safety Test before they are allowed to participate.
A few important safety features and procedures:
🛑Red Safety Line: Students’ feet must remain below the red line at all times. This is a traverse wall, so students travel side-to-side, not up!
🔷Safety Mats: Approximately 3-inch-thick protective mats cover the area below the wall during use.
👟Step Down—No Jumping: Students are taught to safely step off the wall.
👀Adult Supervision: The wall is only used under teacher supervision.
🔒Closed When Not in Use: The mats fold up and cover the lower portion of the wall, preventing access when the wall is not open for instruction.
📝Rules & Safety Test: Safety procedures are posted by the wall, reviewed with students, and reinforced through their safety test.

Your support has provided them with a fun and unique way to develop strength, balance, coordination, problem-solving, confidence, and perseverance.
