MPHS - Important Things to Know!
January 26, 2025
MPHS Students and Families,
This past week we wrapped up our SOL testing and finished our 1st Semester classes. Thank you for ensuring that your student made it to school during this important time. I know it was difficult between the holidays, snow days, a teacher workday, and our SOL testing.
We will start our Quarter 3/Semester 2 classes on Monday, January 27. Please have your student check PowerSchool for their new schedule and classroom assignments. If your student needs assistance in finding their Semester 2 schedule, counselors will be in the Counseling Hallway before school to help. Please note that if your student missed an SOL, or has an expediated re-take, we will continue to offer testing opportunities this coming week.
We will be on a Regular Bell schedule all week - no Cougar Time the week of January 27.
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.

February is CTE Month!
The month of February celebrates Career and Technical Education! CTE prepares students for the workforce across a wide range of industries and occupations. Through CTE students can learn skills in the classroom and on the job to support their careers. They can also earn industry certifications and licenses that will prepare them for life after high school.

Academic and Career Plan
Virginia requires all students to complete an Academic and Career Plan (ACP) each year. The ACP is to be reviewed and signed by a parent/guardian annually. At your earliest convenience, please review your student's plan that was emailed on January 24. Please note that the ACP can be reviewed and updated by the student at any time as they matriculate through their high school career. For additional information, please visit: https://www.doe.virginia.gov/parents-students/for-students/graduation/graduation-requirement-resources/academic-career-plan.
If you have any questions, please contact your student's counselor.
