Islamic Quick Recall (IQR) and National Arabic Spelling Bee (NASB)
Assalamu Alaikum Dear Parents,
At NISL, we aim to inspire our students to grow and challenge themselves—academically and spiritually—to become the best versions of themselves.
In January, we will host an Islamic Quick Recall (IQR) competition, modeled after Kentucky’s Governor’s Cup Quick Recall. Students in grades 3-8 will practice during the second week of January and participate in in-school boys vs. girls matches within their respective classesduring Islamic Studies period. The winners will advance to compete against students from HIRA Institute Elementary and Middle School on January 22, 23.
We are also excited to participate in the National Arabic Spelling Bee (NASB). Grades 1-8 will hold an in-class spelling bee. A couple of elementary and middle school students will represent NISL at the national level. The NASB competition will be conducted online by grade level on different Sundays throughout February.

We encourage all parents to support their children and help them use their time wisely, especially during the two-week winter break. These competitions provide an excellent opportunity to develop time management, discipline, self-control, and sportsmanship—while strengthening their Arabic and Islamic knowledge. Let’s make these events a meaningful and rewarding experience for our students!
