Student of the Month Recognition - March Focus - R.A.D. + O

This month's focus for our Student of the Month will include our guiding concept for our school: RAD Roadrunners. Each Core Belief has a corresponding Expectation that guides students both inside and outside of the classroom environment. As part of this concept we believe embodying these qualities and setting and working toward small goals on a daily basis will help our students Win the Day (school motto)! This month, each teacher will recognize four students that embody these qualities.

Core Belief (Expectation)

Respectful (Kindness)

Accountable (Ownership)

Dedicated (Resilient)

O = Outstanding Roadrunner (All qualities)

Farewell to Coach Suarez Farewell to Coach Suarez

zoom_out_map

Goodbye and Good luck to Coach Suarez

We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to the fun and excitement Coach Suarez has brought to our kiddos during his time here at Nohl Canyon. As of March 8th, Coach Suarez will be moving on to new and exciting opportunities. We wish Coach Suarez well! We know our next PE coach will have big shoes to fill!

Please see the message below on behalf of Coach Suarez:

Dear Nohl Canyon Staff, Parents, and Students,

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the warm welcome and support I have received since joining the Nohl Canyon family. It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated staff and to engage with such remarkable students.

Regrettably, I must inform you of my impending departure due to personal circumstances at home and an opportunity to pursue my passion for coaching soccer. This decision was not reached lightly, and I have explored every avenue to remain at Nohl Canyon for the duration of the academic year. However, given the circumstances, it is in the best interest for myself that I make this transition.

I understand that this news may come as a surprise and I deeply regret any inconvenience it may cause. My final week at Nohl Canyon will be from March 4th to March 8th. During this time, I am committed to ensuring a bidding farewell to each of you with warmth and gratitude. Additionally, I hope to have the opportunity to return as a volunteer or guest before the conclusion of the school year.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and understanding during this time of transition. It has been an honor to be a part of the Nohl Canyon community, and I will carry the memories and experiences with me always.

Warmest regards,

Coach Suarez

Best of luck to you Coach Suarez!

California Kids Investment and Development Savings Program (CalKIDS)

California Kids Investment and Development Savings Program (CalKIDS), launched in 2022, aims to prepare California children for post-secondary education expenses financially. Eligible low-income public school students in grades 1-12 and all California newborns, regardless of income, automatically receive funded savings accounts through CalKIDS. Students within our District may be eligible to access these funds upon enrollment in higher education institutions, utilizing them for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other educational expenses. Bell Schedule

Nohl Canyon uses a "Staggered" Start and dismissal to provide some relief with traffic. Supervision in front of school begins at 7:40 am. After dismissal, supervision ends at 2:40 pm. All students need to be picked up by 2:40 pm.

2023-2024 Bell Schedule

Parent Parking Lot Volunteers Welcome!

If you are interested in helping with our student drop-off or pick-up, we always welcome volunteers. Work as many or as few days as you are able, morning and/or afternoon. All helpers welcome! Stop by and talk with us in the morning or afternoon or let our Front office staff know if you are interested.

Parking Lot Procedures

Thank you for making our parking lot procedures during drop-off and pick-up a safe and efficient machine. We serve a large number of vehicles in short period of time.

Thank you for your continued help with a few critical items:

  • Please remember our Lower lot is Staff Only Parking. The lower entrance on Nohl Canyon RD is ENTRANCE ONLY in the Afternoon for Middle Lane traffic going to park in the FAR lot. Two-way use of this entrance presents a significant hazard to entering cars and pedestrian traffic.
  • Please be kind to our parking lot volunteers. They make the whole thing work.
  • Please ask your kiddos to walk when in front of school. Running children in the pick up area presents several hazards. Safety is our first priority.
  • Trinity School Parking Lot is CLOSED for drop-off and pick-up parking.
  • Parents, with respect to Trinity Pre-School and their families, we are not allowing Nohl Canyon families to park in the Trinity parking lot. Please follow this guideline and support us in keeping a positive community relationship with Trinity School. Trinity will often allow us to use their lot for special events but should not be used for drop-off or pick-up.
  • Please remain clear of the Trinity lawn areas. Trinity lawns should not be used for student waiting for drop-off or pick-up. Students should always be picked up from our school site. If students are still here after 2:40pm, we bring them behind our school gates into our QUAD area for safety until parent pick-up. Please do not have your students wait at the Trinity site for pick-up.
  • Please be sure to use crosswalks when crossing all major roads. Students being dropped off on Nohl Canyon Rd. and then proceeding across the street, presents a significant hazard to those students.
  • Keep in mind, the Nohl Canyon Rd. entrance to our parking area is only to be used during afternoon pick-up and is limited to Middle Lane traffic that is pulling all the way through the lot to park in the back school lot.
