What a beautiful week it has been at Holy Trinity!

Thank you to our families for your flexibility and understanding as we had to pivot our plans for the Pet Blessing. While we were disappointed to cancel the outdoor celebration, we were so proud of how our community embraced the change and helped us make the day special.

The Pet Blessing prayer service in the church was truly beautiful. Our fifth graders did a wonderful job leading us in prayer, and seeing our students hold up pictures of their beloved pets was one of those simple moments that makes you smile. It was a beautiful way to celebrate St. Francis and remind our children of the love and care we are called to show all of God’s creation.

We also had the opportunity to LIVE DIFFERENT in a very special way this week as we welcomed the students and staff of St. Mary’s for adoration, prayer, and worship. Seeing our Avon Catholic Schools community together was something special. Two schools, one community, gathered in the presence of Jesus.

A special thank you to our parish team and Father Anthony for creating such a beautiful, reverent, and faith-filled experience for both schools. The care they put into creating this opportunity for our students to pray, worship, and be still in the presence of Jesus was truly meaningful.

These are the moments that remind us what Live Different! Love Like Jesus! is all about; praying together, welcoming others, serving one another, and making room for God in our everyday lives.

This week we look forward to welcoming our families to Holy Trinity for Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you for making time to partner with our teachers and support your children!

We also welcome the month of October, a month dedicated to Mary and the Holy Rosary. In the late 1800s, Pope Leo XIII officially dedicated the month of October to the Rosary and encouraged Catholics to pray it daily. The Church gives us this special month to slow down, turn our hearts toward Mary, and draw closer to Jesus through prayer. We look forward to seeing our students embrace the Rosary and all that October brings to our school community!

May God bless you and your families, and may St. Francis and Mary continue to remind us to lead with kindness, love, and prayer.

Mr. Kaufhold and Ms. Flanagan

Going for the Gold Going for the Gold

Miss Lavella’s 7th-grade Social Studies class stepped back in time to experience the Greek Olympics!

Students participated in a variety of events inspired by the athletic competitions of Ancient Greece, giving them the opportunity to experience history in a hands-on and memorable way.

What better way to learn about the origins of the Olympics than by becoming Olympians themselves?

Students had fun competing, cheering each other on, and connecting what they’ve learned in the classroom to the traditions and culture of Ancient Greece.

Learning history is even more exciting when you get to experience it!

  • Grades 6–8: Junior high students rotate through their specials on a six-week cycle, also spending a full week focused on each class.
