BENNY PASSES THE MIC TO OUR PTA PRESIDENT
It's been a busy month at Boggess and big success for our PTA! Thanks to everyone who bid in our online auction fundraiser, ate at Chipotle on Spirit Night, and shopped our Book Fair. These events fund so many other PTA programs for students. You'll find a recap below.
Here are the next two events to look forward to:
- π¬ Put your thinking caps on and get ready for STEAM Night on December 7.
- π₯¨ Help us treat our teachers by donating snacks for our monthly appreciation events.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
Thanks,
Sylvia Roy

Help Us Treat Our Teachers
The PTA is introducing a new way to show our Amazing Boggess Teachers how much we appreciate and love them. We will be collecting snack donations to deliver to the teachers one day each month. Our first trip with the snack cart this month was a huge success! Not every month's snacks will be the same. Let's show the teachers how thankful we are for all that they do.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: View the snack list and sign up here. Look for more details on our next drop-off date in January.
Online Auction Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first online auction! Winners will be notified this week on how to pay for and pick up their items.
Spirit Night Update
Thank you for participating in our Spirit Night at Chipotle last week. With almost $1,000 in sales, we raised over $313 for Boggess PTA to put toward activities and resources for our students!
Book Fair Update
We loved seeing everyone's smiles at our Book Fair last week! Our in-person sales last week were over $15,000.
Together, we also had:
- π€ More than $1,700 in new books for teachers and their classrooms. That's approximately 213 books, and that does *not* include the books you purchased directly to gift to teachers. WOW!
- π More than 80 books purchased for students with financial need.
- π§ 20 guessing jar winners who received a new poster.
- π Countless smiles!
A few memorable moments:
- π€© Two fifth grade students each had a few dollars left after making their purchases. They pooled their money together and bought a book for Mr. Dismuke from his bin.
- π΄ Upon seeing the Book Fair on preview day, one of Mrs. Blakey's second graders declared, "This is like a dream!"
- π Mrs. Giordano's sixth-grade son visited Book Fair in the morning before school so he could buy a book for her as he had done every single year before when he was at Boggess. He paid it all in quarters.
- π The third grader who used his entire wishlist for books his little sister would like "because I really love her."
BENNY'S VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK
Thank you to EVERYONE who volunteered at our Book Fair! We had a team of volunteers helping set up, work at the registers all week, help at PJ Night, and taking down the fair. We couldn't bring the bookjoy without you!
Book Fair & PJ Night
We want your Book Fair & PJ Night photos for the yearbook! Please send high resolution (largest size) photos to yearbook@boggesspta.org. Don't forget to include your child's name and grade.
We hope everyone loved the Book Fair! Thanks to Stephanie Miller for the awesome window decorations.
Students enjoyed browsing and making their wishlists.
π€ for all the books!
The dinosaur and shark books were big hits!
Journals are very popular items.
Students gave teachers lots of input on which books to get for their classrooms.
The guessing jar contest is always a favorite.
Guessing jar winners got to pick a free poster from the Book Fair! Here are fifth grade winners Gavin C. and Noura A. with first grade winners Aiden ? and Adalynn B.
Second grade winners Caden R. and Caroline C.
Fourth grade winners Daxon B. and Sophia V.
Second grader Scarlett N. gets bragging rights - she guessed the number of emojis in the guessing jar EXACTLY right!
