Let's Keep The Momentum Going! Let's Keep The Momentum Going!

Mayfair is off to a great start! Just a few reminders to keep the school year running smoothly...

  • First quarter progress reports are here (for students that have received poor grades)! Please check your child's online Aeries account to see how they are progressing. Remember, in order to prepare students to be college and career ready, "D" and "F" grades are unacceptable if trying to go directly to a 4-year college out of high school.
  • Attendance=Success! School starts at 10:00am on Mondays and 8:30am on Tuesdays. Be at school on time, every day.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, 38 Mayfair High School students had the opportunity to visit Cal State Long Beach, where they toured the campus, learned more about college life, and explored future academic opportunities. It was a fun and engaging experience that gave students a glimpse into what it’s like to be part of a university community while inspiring them to start thinking about their own educational goals.

Soons Expectations Soons Expectations

Mayfair administration is visiting history classes to share a presentation with students called Soons Expectations, highlighting the values and standards that guide our school community. This presentation gives students the opportunity to better understand what it means to be a Monsoon—focusing on respect, responsibility, and readiness for success. By reviewing these expectations together, administration and students strengthen the shared commitment to building a positive, supportive, and successful learning environment at Mayfair.

Guardian Cooperation Guardian Cooperation

Dear Mayfair Community:

Parents and guardians, we kindly ask for your cooperation in helping us keep our campus safe and orderly. If your student has an early release, please make arrangements to pick them up promptly. Students with early dismissal should not be lingering on campus, otherwise they may be assigned another class. They are expected to leave either during high school lunch or within the first few minutes after high school lunch ends, and must exit through the bike gate located on Allington Street. This procedure helps us ensure student safety and minimizes disruptions to the learning environment.

We would also like to remind families of the importance of students arriving to school on time each day. The school gates open 30 minutes before the start of the school day, allowing students plenty of time to arrive, get settled, and be prepared for class. Arriving on time supports student success, reduces classroom interruptions, and helps the day begin smoothly for all. Thank you for your support in reinforcing these expectations and for partnering with us to maintain a safe and focused environment at Mayfair Middle/High School.

Halloween Dress Code Halloween Dress Code

🎃👻 Get Ready for a Spook-tacular Halloween at Mayfair Middle/High School! 🎃👻
We're excited for a fun and frightfully good time, but don't forget — we still need to follow a few ghoulish guidelines to keep things safe and respectful!
Here's what to keep in mind for your costumes:

Keep it cool — no overly revealing or suggestive outfits!
Leave the see-through stuff and bare midriffs at home.
Sorry, no plastic swords or canes — let's keep the scares friendly!
Respect is key, so no culturally or racially insensitive costumes.
No full face masks, but you can cover your mouth and nose if it fits your spooky style!
Hats and wigs? Yes, please! They just have to be part of your costume.
Remember, skirts, shorts, and dresses should be fingertip length.
And, no sharp or pointed jewelry — safety first!
We can’t wait to see your creative, fun, and school-appropriate costumes! Let's make this Halloween one to remember! 🎉🕸️🦇

Reminders Reminders

Listed below are just a few important reminders (PLEASE READ):

  1. Mayfair Middle/High School does not permit any drop-offs or deliveries of food or other items. Please ensure that your student is prepared for the day when coming to school in the morning with their lunch, supplies, money, etc.
  2. Dress Code. For the 2025-2026 school year, we are trying to prepare our students for college and career ready with a dress code. Students will not be allowed to wear any inappropriate clothing which includes the following: No sheer, low cut, revealing blouses, bare midriff, or braless outfits, bathing suits, beach attire, tight or revealing, or strapless garments. Please be sure that your student follows the dress code and wears appropriate clothing and accessories. Also, students may not bring blankets to campus. Click here to access Mayfair's Dress Code Policy.
  3. No returning back to campus. If a student has an early release (7th or 8th period), once the student leaves campus, they may not return to campus during school hours. Parents - please ensure that your students are going home early if they have the early release. Note: Students who have a "home" period, must leave campus by the end of lunch, and are not allowed to remain unsupervised. Please review your students schedule so that you are aware when they will be leaving campus early (prior to 3:35).

School Policies School Policies

Bikes/skateboards/ scooters

Students will not be allowed to have bikes, scooters or skateboards on campus. There are designated lock areas on the north and south ends of campus for students to securely store them during the school day. Riding and even walking them through campus presents a safety concern. Students are expected to pick up their belongings at the designated areas, and exit campus. Students are also required to walk their Bike, scooter or skateboard until they are completely off campus, which includes walkways and parking lots. Our goal is to insure safety for all students, we appreciate your support in upholding these expectations at home.

Mayfair Middle/High School students will utilize the app called Minga as a digital ID card. The app enables staff to create hall passes, reward students for doing well and helping others, and the digital ID card will help students have an easier time entering or leaving campus. The digital ID has a "live" interface, with a running digital clock and a moving background, thus preventing students from using a screenshot [Screenshots of ID are not permitted]. Students will utilize their school email (via Google) to log in. The app is safe to use, uses very little data, and doesn't require access to any of the information stored on your phone. If your child does not have a smartphone, don't worry - they will receive a printed ID card as well. Click here to access a quick document that shows you how to log into your school's Minga account.
