The Wednesday MESSAGE!

Our Valentine Socials will continue to be held on February 12th. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who come into Salford Hills to make this a successful event!

Families are invited to a free movie event, Screenagers. This film addresses the challenges children, parents, and educators face in today’s digital world, including early exposure to online content, social media pressures, device distractions in the classroom, moderating video game use and behavior, and rising sleep deprivation among youth.

The event will be held on Wednesday, February 18th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Indian Valley Middle School. Snacks will be provided.

This year Salford Hills will be trying our Open House at a new time of the school year. The Salford Hills Open House will be moving to February 23, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:00. We look forward to seeing all of our families come out to see their child's academic growth and all of their hard work.

Calling all Salford Hills parents, we need your help! We are looking to make a giant chain of Salford Hills love in the cafeteria. Please take a look at the flyer below. You will receive this flyer at home along with a school colored slip of paper to write something you love about Salford Hills on. All the slips will be joined together into a giant paper chain and hung in the cafeteria to form the Salford Hills Heart to Heart chain.

If you don't have an official school picture, a close-up of your child from school year 2020-21 will work as well. Please send labeled with First and Last name to memorybook@salfordhillshsa.org.

If you have a fifth grader at Salford Hills we would love some photos of your fifth grader (with his/her classmates) over the years at Salford Hills. If you have photos from socials, Race for Education, field trips, or any other school events, we would appreciate you sharing them with us for the 5th Grade Memory Book. Please do not send any individual photos (other than their Kindergarten photo) or photos of events outside of school. We exclusively need photos of two or more children together from events at Salford Hills. The Memory Book is a gift from Home & School for all 5th graders and does not need to be purchased 😊

Please join the Home & School Association at our next meeting! This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, learn about HSA events and discover different ways to get involved and volunteer. Bring your ideas, concerns, or questions to the Board and allow the kids to play since childcare is always provided. We hope to see you there!

HSA elections for President and Secretary will be held at the March meeting. If you are interested in running for either position, please submit your nomination no later than March 3rd so that candidates can be listed in the March 4th Wed. Message. Email a brief explanation of why you would like to run to nominations@salfordhillshsa.org. You must attend this meeting in order to vote.

If you have any interest in potentially volunteering (donating time, talent, funds or food!) at any time throughout the school year, please fill out the Google form below. There will plenty of chances to get involved both in the classroom and at after school events. There is no commitment by filling out the form -- it simply adds you to the email list to be notified about opportunities where you could contribute in some way.

In order to be contacted regarding these opportunities, you must join our volunteer list by filling out the form below (you must fill this out each year).

You’re never too young to make a positive difference in the world, as fifth graders proved while volunteering at Mitzvah Circle recently. Small acts of kindness have a ripple effect as families all over Montgomery County will receive clothes, toiletries, books, diapers, games and other necessities that students packed up. Each box included a heartfelt note handwritten by students. We truly are a caring community!
