St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 5 | 21 MAY 2026
Dear parents and caregivers,
A big thank you to the parents who attended our first P&F Community Meeting last Thursday evening. We are very grateful that a P&F Executive Committee was formed on the night, allowing a number of exciting events and initiatives to now move forward. Our School Social Worker, Chloe Grant, also delivered an insightful presentation on anxiety in children, sharing practical and supportive strategies for parents to use at home.
Last year, Catholic school staff and members of the CEWA community were invited to provide feedback regarding a proposed transition to a three-week holiday period for students at the conclusion of Term Two. As a result of this consultation, all CEWA schools will implement a three-week mid-year break from 2027. To accommodate this change, our school may make some minor adjustments to the daily timetable to ensure students continue to receive the same amount of instructional time as in previous years, with no impact on the quality of teaching, learning, or pastoral care programs. Further information will be shared with families in the near future.
A reminder to all parents that students arriving after 8:30am must sign in at the office before independently making their way to class. Similarly, students being collected before 2:50pm must be signed out through the office. Younger students will be accompanied by a staff member either to the classroom or the office. To minimise disruption to teaching and learning, I kindly ask that parents do not go directly to classrooms for student drop-off or pick-up during the school day. If you are planning an early collection, please notify the classroom teacher or administration in advance where possible. For unexpected collections, we appreciate your patience while your child packs up and makes their way to the office. Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.
I will be taking Long Service Leave commencing Friday, May 29, and will return on Monday, June 15. During my absence, Mr Kadir Mastan will undertake the role of Acting Principal, with Mrs Brooke Davison continuing to support him.
Finally, please keep our Year Six students and their families in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this weekend. May the Holy Spirit guide and bless them as they take this important step in their faith journey.
Have a wonderful weekend.
God bless

Term 2 Parent Planner
Dear Families and Caregivers
As we move through another busy and positive term at St Elizabethโs, I would like to thank our wonderful families and students for their support of our Walking Bus on Wednesday. It was fantastic to see so many children and parents involved. Opportunities such as these help build a strong sense of community and connection within our school, and your support is greatly appreciated.
A special thank you to Father Leonard and our Year 3 and 4 Team for leading this weekโs beautiful Liturgy. These moments of prayer and reflection are an important part of our Catholic identity and provide valuable opportunities for students to come together in faith.
Our Year 6 Vincent students visited Elderbloom this week, and I would like to congratulate them on the way they represented our school community. The students demonstrated kindness, respect and leadership throughout the visit and should be very proud of themselves.
On Tuesday, our Year 3 students enjoyed their excursion to Whiteman Park. Excursions such as these provide wonderful opportunities for students to engage in hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom environment.
Finally, just a reminder that our Cross Country Carnival will take place next Thursday. Please ensure you check Miss Newtonโs communication regarding event details, timings and organisation for the day.
Thank you once again for your continued support of our school community.
God Bless
Kadir Mastan and Brooke Davison
๐250 Nights of Reading๐
A big congratulations to all of our students who reached 50 Nights of Reading this week. What a fantastic achievement! Keep up the wonderful reading ๐โจ Weโre excited to celebrate even more milestones, so if youโve also reached 50 nights, come and see Mrs Davison in the office to collect your reward!
Each year, National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) brings together millions of children, families, libraries, schools and early learning centres to read the same Australian picture book this year 2026 the book is
Luna Roo the kangaroo baller by Adam Jackson. โ all at the same time, right across the country and New Zealand. Itโs a vibrant celebration of reading, literacy and community. A powerful reminder of the essential role libraries play in nurturing a lifelong love of books and reading in our youngest audiences.
Thank you. Mrs Burgess ๐
