WEAR PURPLE ON PURPLE PINKIE DAY
On Thursday, October 23, please join the MHS National Honor Society and Rotary International in the fight to eradicate polio in the wild. Wear purple, and for A $1 donation, get your pinkie painted puple. Your $1 donation pays for two child vaccinations in Pakistan or Afghanistan, the last two places on Earth with wild polio virus. Let's end polio in our lifetime!
MILITARY APPRECIATION FOOTBALL GAME
The entire MHS community is invited to honor Maynard's veterans on October 17. Come at 6:00 PM for the Black Hawk Helicopter landing. Bring a food donation and get a discount on your ticket! All veterans will receive free admission, and a free meal from our Snack Shack!
MUSIC AND FUN EVERY FRIDAY!!!
Have you heard about Fri-yays at MHS? On Friday mornings, our students are greeted with music, hype, and a giant HIGH FIVE! On full-day Fridays, there is a WAVM DJ at lunch, playing the requests of students who are nominated by their teachers. We love Friday -- and we want our students to love school!

TIGER DAYS
As you read through our calendar, you may have noticed a new entry for "Tiger Days". This school year, the MHS faculty is piloting a special schedule once in every seven-day rotation. These days will be used for many purposes:
- Advisory (our regular Advisory that we know and love)
- Class Meetings
- Vision of the Graduate Portfolio
- Special Assemblies
- Extra Help/Study Hall
Rather than missing class time, we will now have a special time in place for these activities, and more. This is just a pilot, so be ready to give us feedback about whether it is working! Check your first day of school packet for Tiger Day plans and schedules.
