Redmen Review

The ACTs of Sisseton High have been working together to help save turkeys from becoming a Thanksgiving meal as part of their Disguise the Turkey contest, sponsored by the Student Council. Although there were many creative and clever ideas found throughout the halls, Ms. Eclevia's sophomore ACT and their Shakespearean turkey (top left photo) was declared the winner and will feast on root beer floats when they come back from break.

Seventy students attended the annual S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Mini Conference last Friday. Throughout the evening, students participated in staff-led groups and activities to help them get to know other students and staff better. There were large group games and team competitions as well as supper and prizes throughout the evening. Teamwork and meeting new people was the goal and that was definitely accomplished!

Ms. Prendergast's Senior English students have been practing their presentational skills. While reading Shakespeare's Macbeth, the students, either in small groups or indidividually, did research on a Renaissance topic ranging from food, to weapons, to crime and punishment to sports and leisure to the plague. Pictured are Cash, Bryant, and Jeremias showing off their home-made armor. Hopefully they aren't called to battle soon!

Stay caught up with your homework and grades by participating in Homework Help every Thursday in the SHS library from 3:20-5:00 pm. Come for a quiet space to work and extra support from teachers.
