4/5 Exhibition last week
Dear Families,
Wednesday, May 21, 2:00 - 4/5 band and chorus performance: This past Monday, the combined bands and choruses of several ASCD rural schools performed at MUHS under the direction of Sarah Metcalf. Next week Weybridge 4th and 5th graders will perform the same repertoire for an in-school concert. All are welcome.
Friday 23, 11:20 - Memorial Day picnic at the fire station: It's time for our traditional picnic at the Fire Station. We combine this with one of our required evacuation drills, reporting first to the baseball field and then walking silently down to the Fire Station. Barbara organizes grilling with Rob Gaboriault, Fire Chief. If you would like to join us at the Fire Station for lunch, please place an order with Samantha. All are welcome.
One more time - spring reminder - after school playground supervision: If you and your child/ren are staying after school to play on the playground, please be sure that you are supervising them and that they know you are doing so. While you visit with other parents, to ensure the play stays safe, please move around and keep an eye on where and what the children are doing. Thanks so much.
Lunch volunteers - We need volunteers for Monday and Thursday of next week. If you can volunteer for one of these days, please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or sign up directly on the calendar.
Have a lovely weekend.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation and Nominations!
Our teachers and staff are amazing! At ACSD, we turn Teacher Appreciation Week into Teacher & Staff Appreciation Month. You can help! Share an appreciation HERE.
Parents ~ Ask your child if a teacher or grown-up has done something to make their school day better. Open the form and fill it out together or share something you have appreciated!
Students ~ ALL appreciations matter...but hearing your words is especially meaningful!
The form will be open all month. You can also nominate our ACSD Teacher & Staff of the Year awards (presented at our August 2025 staff Welcome Back week)!

We’re raising pay for substitutes! Apply now!
Substitute teachers are crucial for our students, staff, staff, and schools! We are increasing our daily substitute teaching rate to $160/day for unlicensed subs and $200/day for licensed subs. This change begins on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 when students return from winter break. This flat rate replaces our sliding rate of pay for subs depending on the number of days worked.
To apply, you can email your interest to HR@acsdvt.org with "Substitute Position" in the subject line. You can also visit this listing on school spring.
