Free Screening of "Most Likely to Succeed"
This Wednesday, March 1, Illinois Computing Educators (ICE) is hosting a Brew n' View at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles. They will be screening "Most Likely to Succeed" (movie trailer here) at the resort from 6-9pm. Food and drink tickets will be provided. The event is free of charge and is open to anyone. Click here to register. I'll be there! :)
Digital Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-Up
SignUpGenius allows users to create online sign-ups for events, such as Parent-Teacher Conferences. After a teacher indicates all available time slots, an email is sent to your students' parents to select one of the times. Upon selection, that option is automatically removed, so you don't have to worry about double booking. If you want, you can receive an email every time a parent signs up. The site can also send a reminder email to parents a couple days before their conference time! Here is a quick tutorial, if you're interested in creating a digital sign-up for Spring Conferences (March 9 from 4-7pm). Feel free to contact me for assistance!
5 Clue Challenge
On this site, you'll find short videos where teachers and students give 5 clues about a specific area in the world. The goal is to try to figure out the secret location in as few clues as possible. I included an example below. Can you guess where she is?
You can also submit your own videos to 5 Clue Challenge and reach classrooms all around the world.
