Principal Message

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our teachers feel loved this week!! Your support and appreciation is wonderful! A few items to note for the week:

~ Morning Arrival Time: We have students who are showing up earlier and earlier in the morning. While it's great that we have students who enjoy coming to school, we do not have any supervision before 7:35am, and teachers are busy preparing for the day. Please remember that students should not be dropped off or arriving to school before 7:35am. Your help with this is greatly appreciated!

~ Early Release: OUR Next TWO HOUR EARLY RELEASE DAY WILL BE WEDNESDAY, May 15, 2024. The school day ends at 12:30 p.m. Please complete this registration to let us know your plans for your child or children on this day.

~ Spring Picnic: This is scheduled for Thursday, May 16 (rain date: May 23) from 5:30-7:00 on the Washington playground. See flyer below! AND...please sign up for a volunteer slot (they're short!), to help make the event a success. Here's the link.

As always, thank you for your support--it matters!

Groundbreaking Ceremony At Washington Groundbreaking Ceremony At Washington

On Friday, May 3, we broke ground at Washington for our secure entrance and office remodel project. It was a great day to be a Wildcat! Construction will begin shortly before school ends (probably on Monday, June 3), so be looking for updates about how to work around this. Exciting!

Family Survey

Dear Families,

Our district values your feedback! To ensure we continue to provide high-quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and increase student readiness for life options after graduation, we need to hear from you. We are surveying Mankato Area Public Schools students, families, and staff to gain insight into their satisfaction with their school experience. We want to know what you think.

We safeguard your privacy by keeping your responses anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and district a great place for our students, families, and staff. Participation of students, families, and staff is optional.

The family online survey will close on May 24th using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by visiting the website https://surveys.panoramaed.com/mankato/family24/surveys and choosing your school location.

We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact me at Washington Elementary.

Thank you,

Ann Haggerty
