A Message from Ms. Chambers
The end of August is quickly approaching, and our Geckos have already accomplished so much! Students have powered through the hot temperatures, indoor recess days and our second Friday Flag. We are also continuing to focus on Respect as our Character Strong trait and seeing many wonderful examples across campus.
We are excited to celebrate that our school is averaging 97% attendance each day. Great job, Geckos! Our goal is for every student to have 10 or fewer absences throughout the school year. Every day at school is an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow, so thank you for helping your child make attendance a priority.
Finally, a big thank you to our families who have volunteered to serve as room parents, art, and garden volunteers as well as our CPSO team who help coordinate all these activities! Your partnership makes such a difference, and we are grateful for the many ways you help make our school community special!
Warmly,
Cynthia Chambers

The 2026-27 Volunteer Clearance Process is NOW open!
In order to keep your Level II volunteer clearance from previous school years, please ensure you submit a Level I clearance this school year 2026-27.
Level II clearance will only carry forward if you receive Level I clearance each year!
For questions or additional information, please contact the Creekside Office directly.
Safety Patrol
As a reminder, the School Safety Patrol will be operating before and after school, Monday through Friday, under the supervision of CSES Teacher, Mrs. Heather Hofland, and SDPD Officer, Ralph Perez.
Safety Patrol squads will assist with pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Springhurst Drive and Bridgewood Way. This intersection currently has a three-way stop and two crosswalks. We appreciate, in advance, your cooperation, patience, and support as these students are on duty.
Each School Safety Patrol squad is comprised of 4-7 members. The members have specific responsibilities in ensuring families cross safely before and after school. Crossing will be permitted when a group gathers and is ready to cross. The captain will blow their whistle once, signaling the members to drop signs and traffic to stop in all directions. The captain will blow their whistle twice, signaling the opportunity for families to safely cross the intersection on marked crosswalks. The captain will then blow the whistle three times, signaling signs up and traffic to resume. Students will be supervised by school staff, SDPD, and/or trained parent volunteers.
If you would like to volunteer to support the Safety Patrol, please contact Heather Hofland at Hhofland@powayusd.com.
Please use safe driving habits along Springhurst Drive and Bridgewood Way. Please refrain from making u-turns in the middle of the road. The few extra minutes it may take to drive around could be the few extra minutes needed to prevent an accident or injury to a walking or riding pedestrian.
We ask that pedestrians and drivers be kind to our squads and understanding as they become proficient in managing their responsibilities.
Thank you!
Parking Lot Safety Reminders
At arrival and dismissal times the Creekside parking lot is very congested. Please keep the following in mind to keep everyone safe in our parking lot:
Please be patient, kind and courteous. Thank yous and smiles are always appreciated!
Please listen and follow directions from staff.
Only use the pedestrian crosswalk to cross the parking lot. Do not dodge in and out of the traffic flow to get through the parking lot.
Do not leave any cars unattended when Parked along the red curb. This causes a back-up into the street and there is a chance you will be ticketed by the city of San Diego.
Have your child on the right (passenger) side of the car with materials ready to go. Please do not get out of your car to assist or escort your child.
Continue to move forward as far as possible before stopping to let your child out.
Do not drop your child off in the middle of the parking lot or expect them to cut through the lot on their own.
Do not park in reserved spaces.
There is NO LEFT TURN out of the parking lot during arrival and dismissal times. There is also no parking in the bike lane along Springhurst Drive. SDPD patrols this area and will ticket.
Refrain from using cell phones in the parking lot, stay alert.
We recommend using the back gate to ease parking lot congestion in the front.
Thank you for keeping yourself and our Geckos safe!

New ParentVUE Mobile App
Edupoint has released a modernized ParentVUE (New) mobile application and retired the older ParentVUE app. Families should download the updated version to maintain access to student grades, schedules, and attendance records. Here are some easy directions you might provide to families:
How to Get Started with ParentVUE (New)
Remove Old App: Delete the old ParentVUE app from your phone first so the new version functions correctly.
Download: Search for ParentVUE (New) directly in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or follow the upgrade prompt inside your legacy (old) ParentVUE app.
Connect to District: Open the new app, swipe through the intro, and search for your school district using your postal zip code.
Log In: If prompted, select "Already Activated" if you already have an account, and sign in using your existing username and password.
