"Virtually" Everyone Loved Something Very Fishy Online

Thank you to 1300 children and 80 teachers from 26 schools across the state of South Carolina for making our Something Very Fishy Online exhibit a huge success. We really appreciate your participation in our first ever virtual event. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Sunny the Seal and Boss the Shark certainly enjoyed meeting all of you.

To help us to assess the impact of our program, we would ask those teachers that participated to complete this online post-performance survey. Your participation is voluntary and your answers will be anonymous. We simply ask that when you complete the survey you write down your completion code (such as 1324) and email that code to Dr. Michael Childress (mchildr@clemson.edu). This will enter you automatically in drawing for a $100 VISA gift card as our thank you for your time and effort. Note there are attention check questions, so pay attention to these so your survey will count. Click on this link to complete your survey.

Please Send US Your SVF Student Workbooks

For those of you that agreed to help us with our SVF Online program assessment, it is time to complete and return those student workbooks. Follow these simple instructions.

  1. Have your students complete the post-program assessments (Ocean Vision, I Sea Myself, Think, Feel, Do Survey - pages 18-22).
  2. Have your student's parents sign the consent form on page 27.
  3. Put the workbooks in a Medium Flat Rate box from the US Postal Service.
  4. Attach the return mail address label and postage stamps ($15.50) included with your workbook instructions.
  5. Drop off the package at your local Post Office.

Every teacher that returns a minimum of 10 signed workbooks by April 16th will automatically be entered in a drawing for a $100 VISA gift card. If you would like the workbooks returned to you after we scan them, just include a note asking us to return them, and we will be happy to send them back.

Something Very Fishy Live Performance - (coming this fall)

Would you like a live performance of Something Very Fishy in your school post-COVID? We are taking SVF mobile so students can participate in the program safely within their school's premises. The touring production includes a musical theatre performance, live animal exhibits, and 2021 SVF Student and Teacher Workbooks. Our hope is to schedule the upstate SC schools tour for the coming fall term. Touring performances will be limited and as such we are asking schools to register their interest to participate. Pre-registration interest is not binding, but it will ensure schools do not miss out on this unique opportunity. For more information and to pre-register your school's interest to participate, please contact Kathy Prosser (info@educationalentertainment.org).
