Bloomingdale Elementary Fifth Graders Soar into Future Friendships at Urban Air

Bloomingdale Elementary's fifth grade class recently embarked on an exciting field trip to Urban Air Adventure Park in Holland. This wasn't just any ordinary outing; it was a unique opportunity for Bloomingdale students to connect with their future classmates from Pullman Elementary.

The joint field trip aimed to foster new friendships and ease the transition to middle school for both groups of students. Students from both schools enjoyed Urban Air's attractions, including trampolines, climbing walls and obstacle courses.

This was a great opportunity for our fifth graders to get to know the Pullman students. Building these connections now will make the transition to middle school much smoother for everyone involved. The day was filled with laughter and the beginning of new friendships.

Bloomingdale Elementary Rockets into M-STEP Testing with High-Energy Assembly!

Bloomingdale Elementary buzzed with excitement as the third, fourth, and fifth graders gathered for a dynamic M-STEP kickoff assembly. The assembly showcased their hard work and celebrated their learning throughout the year.

The assembly also took a special moment to recognize the remarkable achievement of fifth grader Alaina Munn! Alaina qualified to compete in the youth wrestling national tournament, a truly outstanding accomplishment that reflects countless hours of practice and unwavering commitment. We invited Alaina’s family in to surprise her with a Bloomingdale Elementary send off.

The energy and positive spirit of the assembly undoubtedly set the stage for a successful M-STEP testing period. Bloomingdale Elementary is proud of all its students and believes in their ability to shine!

Bloomingdale Elementary Gears Up for Future Students with Kindergarten Round Up

Bloomingdale Elementary is excited to welcome its newest class of learners at the upcoming Kindergarten Round Up on Thursday, May 1st. This informative event provides an opportunity for parents of children entering kindergarten in the fall to learn more about the school, meet the dedicated teachers and staff, and get a glimpse into a typical kindergarten day. Families will be able to tour the classrooms, discover the engaging curriculum, and ask any questions they may have about the transition to elementary school. This is a crucial step in ensuring a smooth and positive start to their child's educational journey at Bloomingdale Elementary.

The Kindergarten Round Up is designed to be a welcoming and informative experience for both parents and future students. Children are encouraged to attend and participate in some fun, age-appropriate activities that will allow them to interact with teachers and other soon-to-be classmates. Bloomingdale Elementary Swings into Spring with Positive Behavior Celebrations

Bloomingdale Elementary is fostering a positive and supportive learning environment through its robust Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system. A cornerstone of this program is the monthly recognition of "Students of the Month," where individual students who consistently demonstrate exemplary behavior, are celebrated by their peers and teachers. This public acknowledgement reinforces positive choices and inspires others to follow suit. Furthermore, the school hosts highly anticipated quarterly reward parties for all students who have maintained a clean record with no office referrals during the marking period. These fun-filled events serve as a tangible incentive and a school-wide celebration of collective positive behavior, creating a joyful and harmonious atmosphere throughout Bloomingdale Elementary.

Adding an exciting twist to their PBIS initiatives this marking period, Bloomingdale Elementary is set to host a friendly basketball game pitting staff and parents against the students. This unique event aims to bring the school community even closer, providing a relaxed and engaging platform for interaction outside of the traditional classroom setting. The upcoming basketball game promises to be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the students' commitment to positive behavior in a fun and memorable way, fostering a stronger sense of unity and shared pride within the Bloomingdale Elementary family.
