Weekly Spotlight:
Spotlight of the Week: Our Youngest Linguists!
This week, we are sending a huge shout-out to our amazing Transitional Kindergarten (TK) learners! Our early learners have been hard at work mastering the building blocks of reading. They started by identifying and sorting pictures by their beginning sounds—but they didn’t stop there! Lately, these bright stars have leveled up. They are now identifying sounds at the beginning, middle, and end of words. By connecting these sounds, they’ve made a thrilling discovery: they are already building words like "mom," "dad," and "dog!" Their excitement and curiosity are truly contagious. We are so proud of the progress they’re making. Keep up the incredible work, TK!
Middle & High School Highlights
Hello everyone,
We had a very positive week at Reardan. Students have been busy finishing up projects as we approach the end of the semester on the 22nd. Classrooms have been focused and productive as students work hard to wrap up their learning.
In Foods class, Elisabeth Roberts taught students how to make homemade tortillas, giving them a hands-on learning experience that was both engaging and practical.
Our FFA program also had a great showing at sub-districts, with the Ag Issues team placing 1st and 3rd. Congratulations to our students and advisors on this outstanding achievement.
Thank you for your continued help and focus on attendance. We are excited to share that both our middle school and high school had an attendance rate of over 90% last week. We will continue to prioritize and emphasize the importance of strong attendance moving forward.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our students and school.

Options Program
Field Trip
Last week some students went to the Fish Hatchery and the Blue Zoo! They got 150 trout eggs that we will raise and release in Medical Lake in May. Be sure to ask your student about them! Right now they have eyes that you can see! So cool! They also got to pet stingrays, see lots of different kinds of fish and learn about the trout life cycle.
Athletics
Basketball teams this week showed up in purple to show support for Coach Jenkins!

Reardan School-Based Health Clinic Visits- On Campus at School!!
We’re excited to continue offering School-Based Health Clinic days for students this school year in partnership with Lincoln Hospital and Clinics! A medical provider will be on campus for in-person appointments the last Wednesday of every month throughout the rest of the school year!!
These visits are a convenient option for families and can be used for:
Wellness/annual check-ups
Sick visits
Ongoing concerns (headaches, stomachaches, allergies, rashes, asthma, etc.)
Or any health concern your child may need to be seen for
One of the best parts of this service is that students can be seen right here at school, and after their appointment, they can return to class—helping families avoid missed work, long travel times, or difficulty scheduling appointments.
Remaining Clinic Dates
Clinic visits will be held on:
January 28
February 25
March 25
April 29
May 27
How to Schedule an Appointment
Families may schedule directly through Lincoln Hospital and Clinics by calling: Just let them know you'd like to be seen at Reardan School Clinics.

Parent/Guardian Information
Parents and guardians are always welcome to attend their child’s appointment. However, if you’re unable to come in, your child can still be seen at school as long as we have the required paperwork and consent completed ahead of time.
Consent Required
Please know that no medical care is provided without parent/guardian consent. This includes any vaccines or immunizations—nothing is ever given without your written permission.
Important: Parents/guardians must complete the required clinic paperwork before a student can be seen.
This program is here to support our students and families by providing easy access to quality healthcare right here at school, especially for the convenience of families in our rural community. Please let me know if you have any questions or need help scheduling an appointment. Thank you!!

Nutrition Services
Hello Reardan Families-
What a delicious week we have had in our cafeteria!!
Our week started out with homemade fajitas. Even the seasoning was made from scratch.
Warm and fluffy pancakes and eggs were served on Wednesday with some syrup.
Chicken patty sandwiches were for lunch Wednesday. Always a crowd pleaser. We even tried something new...JoJos. Super yummy. The students asked for them again.
Thursday was NATIONAL BAGEL DAY!!! We celebrated in the commons. OKAY...maybe just Heidi did but it was still a fun day We had bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. We had 2 different flavors of cream cheese, regular and strawberry . Can you guess the favorite?? Then for lunch we had breakfast bagel pizzas. Those were amazing. The kids loved them so much that they asked for them for breakfast. We had several staff that said that we should make them a regular on the menu. We also had graham crackers with the bagel pizzas.
Friday we served pancakes on a stick with syrup. Some students were trying to convince the kitchen staff that they were corn dogs . For lunch we had chicken nuggets and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies
Next week we are trying a new recipe!! Check out the January menu and see what else is coming up
