Supporting Students and One Another
As you may have read in your district email or text message this week, our school community is mourning the loss of 10th grade student, Payton Vertz. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
Throughout the week, students have expressed a range of emotions, including disbelief, fear, sadness, anger, shock, and denial. These feelings are natural responses to loss, and we recognize that parents and community members may be experiencing many of these same emotions.
Please know that your children are not alone and that support is available. District counselors are at the high school to provide students with opportunities to talk individually or in small groups. If you notice your child is struggling with the loss and would benefit from extra support, please reach out to Principal Engh at timothy.engh@trschools.k12.wi.us . We will work to ensure your child receives the care and support they need.
Thank you for the compassion and care you continue to show your children, our students, and one another.
Book Study
We are looking for at least ten parents or community members who would be interested in a book study. The dates, times, and location (virtual or in-person) will be determined by the group. This is a fantastic read! Please respond by November 6th.
Athletics/Co-Curriculars and Bus Drivers
Two Rivers Buses, Inc. has experienced some struggles having enough drivers, at times, to transport students from school and to athletic/co-curricular events when both are taking place around the same time. In brainstorming one possible solution, the bus company is willing to help staff members and parents pay for their CDL license if they agree to drive teams to athletic events. They also pay $16 an hour for driving.
If that interests you, please reach out to Chris A. at chrisatrbus@gmail.com or call 920-793-2541 to learn more.
For those who may be unaware, the district contracts with Two Rivers Buses, Inc. Since the district does not own the buses or directly employ the drivers, the decision regarding whom they choose to interview and hire would be made by Two Rivers Buses, Inc.
