Message From The Principal

Good Evening Colts!

Got a lot going on this week!

Parent/teacher conferences are going to be held this Tuesday, Oct 20 from 3:30 to 7:00 pm, and Wednesday, Oct 21 from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. These will be held in our media center in an open, buffet style setting. No need to make appointments, just come and visit with as many of your student's teachers as you feel necessary. In order to make sure we see as many parents as we can, we respectfully ask to keep each visit no longer than 10 minutes.

We will be having a PSAT/SAT practice test on Tuesday, Oct 20. 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will be taking this practice test during the morning session. Seniors will be doing college prep work, ICAP work, and other activities as necessary. Classes will begin at 11:15 that morning after all of this has been completed.

Additionally on Tuesday Oct 20, the Pueblo Health Department will be here at school in the morning to give our 9th and 10th graders a presentation on the Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program. This will happen starting at 7:30 (before our PSAT practice tests). You, as a parent/guardian, have certain rights regarding health education. You may exempt your student from a specific portion, or portions, or all of health education instruction on the grounds that it is contrary to religious beliefs and teachings or closely held personal beliefs of the student or the student´s parent/guardian. If you desire to exempt your student from a portion, or portions, or all of health education instruction, you must complete and return an opt-out form. This form was sent home Thursday. If you wish for your student to be opted out of this, please fill the form out over the weekend and return it with your student to the office. If the form doesn't happen to make it home to you, there will be some in our front office for your use. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 719-549-7255.
