Why Attendance Matters
November 2025
Message to Families and the Quincy Community
As we welcome November, a month centered on gratitude, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation to our students, families, administrators, and community partners who make Quincy Public Schools such a special place to learn and grow.
We are grateful for our families who help students build strong attendance habits—getting to school on time, every day, ready to learn. Your encouragement, communication, and collaboration make a real difference. Each day that a student is present brings new opportunities to connect, learn, and thrive.
We are thankful for our educators and staff who create welcoming classrooms where every student feels valued and supported. We are grateful to our administrators who continue to uplift our schools with their care, dedication, and commitment to student success. We extend our gratitude to our community partners, whose generosity and kindness provide invaluable support to our school communities.
As we celebrate this season of thankfulness, let’s continue working together to help every student show up, learn, and shine. Together, we are building a community rooted in gratitude, connection, and a commitment to the success of all students.
With appreciation,
Kevin Mulvey J.D.
Superintendent of Schools

What Are You Thankful For?
🎥 Students, families, and staff—what makes you grateful to be part of Quincy Public Schools?
Share a video or photo of yourself with a short note about what you’re thankful for this season. It could be a favorite teacher, a helpful classmate, a special project, or a fun school event—big or small, we want to hear about it!
Send your video or photo, and message to AttendanceMatters@quincypublicschools.com for a chance to be featured in an upcoming social media post or newsletter. Let’s celebrate gratitude, connection, and the many reasons to #BeHereBeThankful!

Attendance Tip of the Month
Show Gratitude by Showing Up
Keep Routines Steady
With the time change and the winter season approaching, routines can easily get disrupted. Stick to consistent bedtimes and morning schedules to make school mornings smoother.
Plan Ahead for the Holidays
If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving or other holidays, plan appointments or travel outside of school days whenever possible. Every day counts!
Connect with the School
If a student is struggling to attend regularly, reach out to teachers or counselors early. Together, you can problem-solve barriers before they become bigger challenges.
