Dear Families,
This past week was filled with pride and joy. The National Junior Honor Society hosted a wonderful Winter Festival that highlighted their leadership and teamwork. Our musical students also shined with outstanding performances at the band and strings concerts. Their dedication and talent inspire us all.
As we begin a new quarter, we are reminded that each fresh start brings new opportunities to strengthen the partnership between home and school. Working together ensures that every child has the support they need to thrive academically and personally. Below are some tips and questions families can utilize for the new quarter.
Tips for Strengthening Communication with Teachers
- Reach out early if you have questions or concerns—don’t wait until challenges grow.
- Use email, school apps, or scheduled conferences to stay connected.
- Share insights about your child’s interests, strengths, and needs to help teachers better support them.
Some Reflection Questions for Parents
1. How do I encourage my child to talk about what they are learning each day?
2. In what ways can I model perseverance when tasks feel challenging at home?
3. How can I balance offering help with allowing my child to take responsibility for their own work?
Tips for Supporting Learning at Home
- Establish a consistent homework routine with a quiet, distraction-free space.
- Break larger assignments into smaller steps to make them manageable.
- Praise effort and persistence, not just results, to help children build resilience.
- Encourage your child to ask questions and seek clarification when they don’t understand.
We are excited for another great week of learning. Please remember that students do not have school on Monday and Tuesday. We welcome them back on Wednesday, which will also be an early dismissal day.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a place where students grow, achieve, and persevere.
Warm regards,
April Murphy
