PTSCO Parent Learning Walk - October 8
We are excited to share that our PTSCO will be hosting a Parent Learning Walk on Tuesday, October 8. A Parent Learning Walk is designed to give families an inside look at the teaching and learning taking place at Largo High School. Parents will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, observe instruction, and gain a better understanding of the academic experiences their students engage in each day.
We look forward to welcoming our parents on this special day and strengthening our school-home partnership.
Student Food Sales During the School Day
Largo High School would like to remind all families that students are not permitted to sell food, snacks, or drinks during the school day. This expectation is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, as well as to maintain a focused learning environment.
Students who continue to engage in selling food during the school day will face disciplinary consequences.
We ask for your partnership in reinforcing this message at home and reminding students that food sales are not allowed during school hours.
Joint La Casa Celebration and ELD Family Night a Success!
Our La Casa and ELD Joint Family Night was a huge success, filled with joy, connection, and celebration of our culture. The event was held on September 24, and welcoem approximately 100 total attendees. We can’t wait for more events like this that continue to display the diversity of our school culture!
Class of 26 Celebrates Success on the 26th
The Class of 2026 celebrated its seniors on September 26 with a special recognition! Students who are “Green” in their promotion status—meaning they are on track with academic progress, have completed their service learning hours, met testing requirements, and signed their Graduate Notification Agreement (GNA)—were honored with doughnuts as part of the celebration. 🍩
Thank you to AP Dr. Jones, Senior Counselor Mrs. Dates, and Class Sponsors Dr. Childs and Mrs. Jorgensen for recognizing and uplifting our seniors as they continue their journey toward graduation!
IMPORTANT: Free and Reduced Meals Status for 2025-2026 School Year
At the start of a new school year, students who received free or reduced-price meals during the previous year are given a grace period to carry over their Free and Reduced Meal status. The annual eligibility changes for Free and Reduced Meals (FARMS) programs are based on updated federal income guidelines, which are typically finalized in the fall.
The October 10, 2025 deadline marks the end of this grace period. Families must submit a new application by this date for their child(ren) to continue receiving free or reduced-price meal benefits for the current school year. Please note that the students on the attached list completed a FARMS application in SY24–25 but have not yet completed one for SY25–26. Families must be notified that if they have not completed a FaRMS application for SY25-26 their status will automatically switch to paid at 11:59 p.m. on October 9, 2025 if a new application is not submitted.
Applications can be completed online at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/. Please share this information with your school community to ensure families are aware of the deadline and their options to reapply.

Largo Golfer Visits Morehouse
Senior Largo Golfer Leonard Crichton, Jr. visited Morehouse College this past week, and he had a wonderful experience, as reported by his mother. She shared a picture of "L.J." with us. This is evidence of where hard work across all areas makes a difference. If you see Leonard, please congratulate him on a successful visit.
Lions JV Football Weathers Storm to Get the Win
Largo's Junior Varsity Football team played in an epic contest on September 24 that saw a rain delay, due to a torrential downpour. Following the stoppage, the Lions scored and emerged with a victory over Gwynn Park--one the team had not earned in years. Congratulations to our team on a great win!
Lions' Varsity Football Comeback Falls Short at Gwynn Park
Largo fell down 33-14 to Gwynn Park in Friday's game, and scored 14 points in their 4th quarter, but came up short falling to the Yellow Jackets 33-28. Our varsity team has a 1-3 record this year, and will look to turn things Friday, October 3 on the road against Fairmont Heights at 7:00 p.m.
