Musicians Join Professional Orchestra for Annual Concert for Fourth Graders
Allen ISD recently hosted a special concert event featuring the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with select Allen ISD high school students. The performance was attended by all Allen ISD fourth graders and showcased music selections from the UIL Elementary Music Memory List.
Each year, Jeff Turner, Director of Fine Arts for Allen ISD, curates pieces from the UIL list to be featured in this educational concert experience. In August, teaching materials are distributed to music teachers across the district, supporting both competition preparation and classroom instruction leading up to the concert.
The November 19 performance included a program of eight classical and modern selections totaling over 35 minutes of music. Featured works included Richard Strauss’s “Also sprach Zarathustra,” Mozart’s “Alleluia” from Exsultate, jubilate, and John Lithgow’s narrated piece The Remarkable Farkle McBride.
Student Performers
Violin I – Ellie Tang, Tristan Wang, Seyed Kian Mir Mehrkay
Violin II – Ashley Chen, Nathaniel Niduasa, Claire Yin

The concert was conducted by Jeff Turner and performed twice during the day, at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., inside the Allen High School Performing Arts Center.
Thank you to the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra, participating student musicians, and Fine Arts staff for bringing classical music to life for hundreds of young students.

AP Environmental Sciences: Eagle Give Day Project
Our Eagles demonstrated the true meaning of service and school pride during Eagle Give Day! Students stepped up—and in some cases, waded in—to make a real difference on our campus.
A group of dedicated students went all-in on our trash clean-up efforts. They rolled up their sleeves (and even their pant legs!) and got straight to work. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and they proved that working hard and having fun can absolutely go hand in hand.
We are incredibly proud of these students for modeling leadership, responsibility, and a commitment to keeping our community beautiful. Their actions remind us that every Eagle has the power to make an impact.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported Eagle Give Day—together, we continue to make STEAM a place we can all be proud of!

Class of 2026
Class of 2026: Application opens Nov. 1 and closes Sunday, Dec. 7 at 5PM!
Each November, the senior class at Allen High School is invited to apply for a variety of locally funded scholarships, organized into ONE application by the Foundation. This streamlines the process for students, encourages more students to apply, and provides a variety of quality applicants to the local funding organizations and businesses.
For over 27 years, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to students through the generosity of donors. We are excited to announce that to date, the Foundation has awarded a total of 1,921 scholarships worth $1.9 million dollars to graduating Allen High School seniors!
The Foundation offers a variety of scholarships ranging from those funded on an annual basis to endowed scholarships in which the principal gift is invested with the earnings awarded. Scholarship awards are sent directly to colleges, universities or trade schools, and the students may use the funds for tuition, room and board, fees and books. Scholarship awards must be used in the school year following graduation from Allen High School.
Scholarship Timeline: online applications open November 1, committee reviews mid-December through mid-January, student interviews early February, committee final reviews and placements in March, scholarship awards to be announced end of March via email. Awards ceremony and reception in April.
New scholarships are added throughout the year. For information on establishing a new scholarship fund or contributing to an existing scholarship, please contact Regina Taylor at 972-727-0362.
