A Successful First Week
We reflect upon a great first week of school for our Mustangs. Our returning students did a great job of modeling The Madison Way for our newcomers, and everyone seemed to settle into our school routines. We welcome ALL kindergarteners to school tomorrow. Their soft start last week included parent/teacher Meet & Greets on T/W and half classes attending on Th/F. The entire Madison family will be in session tomorrow, let's go!

Dismissal Reminders
For parents & guardians picking up at the end of the day...
Tomorrow's dismissal promises to be a busy one with ALL of our kindergartners in school. For parents & guardians using our parent pick up line, please keep moving up when there is space to safely do this. This will allow more cars to enter the lane and free up the traffic on Territorial Road. Please see our dismissed process below. The road closures have required that neighbors park on Territorial currently, which has made our process even more challenging. Your patience is appreciated!
Also, please remember that we dismiss at 3:30 and expect parents & guardians to pick their children up at that time each day. Thank you!
Madison PTO
Parent-Teacher Organization
We recognize that starting the year without a PTO is not ideal and the impact will be felt by all of our Mustangs. However, it takes far more that simply attending the PTO meeting each month to make that group work. In order to restart our PTO, we are in need of a small group of interested parents to serve on the board, which requires at least three (3) board members (President, Secretary, & Treasurer). To help provide more information to our parent community, Mr. A & Mrs. B have scheduled a brief information session in the Media Center on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:00pm. We encourage all interested parents to attend. Our Volunteer Services Coordinator (Sara Evans) will also be in attendance to help answer questions, as will be the Anoka-Hennepin Parent Involvement Coordinator, Marla Chesser.
Madison Expectations
Please REVIEW, then ENTER for a chance to win!
We ask each family to review our School Wide Behavior Expectations with your child(ren). Once you have, please enter the drawing below for Principal's Chair for the Day. We will do a random drawing on Friday, September 18th, and TWO of our Mustangs will win a principal's chair for the day on Monday, September 21st. Yes, Mr. A and Mrs. B will switch and have to use tiny student chairs all day!

Character Strong
September Trait of the Month: Respect
This month, we're focusing on Respect - seeing the value in all people & things and treating them with care. Throughout the year, students will grow important skills like understanding others, solving problems, and being great leaders as part of learning to Be Kind. We hope you will take time as a family to talk about what Respect looks like and how you can practice it together!
Updates to School Policies
Student/Family Handbook
We encourage all families to review Madison's Student/Family Handbook each year, especially when it comes to possible changes in policies or procedures. This year, we want to highlight a few changes so that all families have the most current information.
- While some schools are considering eliminating visitors for lunch, we are choosing to designate Friday as the day when parents/guardians can visit their child during lunch. If you wish to have lunch with your child, you're welcome to come in on any Friday this year. Thank you!
- We continue to ask that fast food not be brought into our cafeteria during Friday lunch visits for a variety of reasons. We appreciate your cooperation.
- Finally, we continue to align our expectations for E-Bikes, E-Motos, and E-Scooters to district and state guidelines. For more information on these policies, click here.
