Neptune's News
Hi everyone,
I hope the time change hasn't caused too much difficulty for your family. As educators, the impact the time change has on us is no joke. The toll it takes on our students is real as well. There is a plethora of research showing that "springing forward" alters our internal clocks, causing sleep deficiency, affecting one's health. In schools, an increase of students struggling to stay awake, poor academic performance, and mood dysregulation can often be seen.
Consider the following to help your child through this time change:
- Implementing a calm nighttime routine
- Keep bedtime and waking up on a predictable schedule
- Talk about what a good night's sleep looks like and the benefits of them
- And last, but not least, avoid placing outside stressors on your child, especially around bedtime.

We had an amazing House Day on Friday! The students separated into their Houses and participated in four events. With each activity, two Houses met up to compete against one another. The students did a fabulous job demonstrating traits like teamwork, respect, integrity, sportsmanship, risk-taking, and the list goes on. It truly made my heart smile to see the students having fun regardless of their grade or ability. The staff even participated in some of the events. The activities were Protect the Cup (pool noodles), Charades, Tangrams (using 7 specific shapes to fill in or make a larger one), and Chuckin' Cheetos (shower cap, shaving cream, and Cheeto balls). Ask your child to tell you about their favorite event.

Please take time to review the policies and procedures below. For the day-to-day efficiency of the school, as well as the safety of our staff and students, all families are expected to abide by them.
* Our student dress code is not optional; it is a requirement. Student shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets should not have hoods; they are never allowed, even on dress down days.
* Drop-off for Before Care is 7:00 am. Please do not block the gate or follow staff into the parking lot prior to that time. There is no staff scheduled to receive students until 7:00 am.
* All school behavior expectations are in place once a student is on the campus and in our care. This includes Before & After Care, field trips, and other off-campus events.
* Our front office hours are from 7:30-3:30, Monday through Friday, on days school is open regular hours.
* Instructional time begins promptly at 8:30 am. If your child is late, you must park and walk them into the office to check them in. Do not drop them off and leave.
* If you are picking your child up early, you must park and come into the office to get them. Early pick-up ends at 2:30 pm; students will not be released after that time. Dismissal via the carline starts at 3:15 pm. From 3:15 - 3:30 pm you will pick your child up through the carline; do not come to the office.
* ALL visitors MUST report to the front office upon arrival to our campus. State statute requires that everyone be checked in through our Raptor screening system, so remember to bring your driver's license. Only visitors who are Level 2 volunteers or hold a Pasco County Schools Vendor Badge may be unescorted around campus. If you come into the school for an IEP meeting, a parent-teacher conference, or to use the restroom, you must be run through Raptor and receive a visitor's badge. The expectation is that you wear that badge so it is visible the entire time you are on campus and return it to the front desk prior to leaving.

Later this week you will be receiving paperwork explaining changes to three of our existing systems - Dismissal Car Line, After Care, and Late Pick-up Fees. Please be on the look-out for these documents; it is important that you understand how these changes will work and how they may impact you. All three begin on the Monday we return from Spring break, April 6, 2026.
Enjoy this four-day school week and Erin Go Bragh!

FREE After-school Tutoring
*** STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED PRIOR TO ATTENDING TUTORING ***
We are pleased to office tutoring again this year, to all students free of charge.
Tutoring will be offered in reading and math. Tutoring will be data-driven based-on students’ performance on school-wide assessments.
Tutoring will begin the week of 9/29/2025 and end on April 30, 2026. The days offered are Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30.
If students are not picked up by 4:35 they will remain in the office and charges will apply ($1 for each minute late).
There will be no make-up sessions for missed tutoring and no tutoring during school breaks. If a student’s behavior and/or lack of effort impedes the student’s ability to learn or prevents others from learning, the parent will be notified by either the tutor or administration. If the behavior occurs again, the student will be dismissed from tutoring. If school closes early for any reason, tutoring will be canceled. Students will be assigned tutoring days of the week based on the tutor’s caseloads by the tutoring team.
