Welcome back!
Tech Tip Tuesday (August 19, 2025)
Bring on, 2025-26!
🤓 But first, a quick intro from me! 🤓
What does an instructional technology coach do?
As an instructional technology coach from the Learning Technology Center, my main goal is to empower teachers to use technology in ways that truly transform student learning. I'm not just the "fix-it" person for a broken projector; I'm a partner in curriculum and instruction.
I spend most of my time working one-on-one with teachers, sitting down with them to co-plan a lesson that integrates a new app or tool. Sometimes, I'll even co-teach with them in the classroom to model a new strategy and help them feel more comfortable. For example, I might introduce a teacher to a new digital storytelling tool and then help the teachers lead the first class project using it.
A big part of my job is also leading professional development. I design and deliver workshops for my colleagues on everything from using Schoology more effectively to integrating AI tools like MagicSchool into lesson plans. Invite me to your PLCs where teachers can share ideas and solve problems together!
I'm constantly researching and exploring new educational technologies to see what's out there and what could benefit our students. I evaluate new tools to make sure they're not just a fad, but genuinely help our students learn in a deeper, more engaging way. My ultimate goal is to help teachers feel confident and equipped to create a dynamic, personalized, and effective learning environment by leveraging the power of technology.
