What a fantastic Open House!
It was absolutely wonderful to see so many of you and your children’s smiling faces. We truly missed them over the summer, and it filled our hearts with joy to reconnect. I’m thrilled to kick off a brand-new school year filled with learning, laughter, and growth!

🌳 Join Us for a Playdate!
The PTA is hosting a fun-filled playdate at Hembree Park tomorrow (Saturday, August 2nd). It’s a great chance to meet other Hembree Hawks families and build community. Ms. E and I will be stopping by to say hello—we’d love to see you there!

We will see you all on Monday. Parents can walk children to class the first week.

💡 Back-to-School Transition Tips
We know that returning to school after a summer of relaxed routines and extra family time can be tough for some children. Separation can feel challenging, and that’s completely normal. We’ve included some helpful tips below to make the transition smoother for both you and your child.

We are looking for volunteers to step in as Room Parents! I know what you’re thinking - what does a Room Parent even do?

• Check-in with their teacher monthly to see if they have any volunteer or supplies needs.
• Send pre-written emails to your class 1-2 times a month.
• Help plan your teacher’s birthday celebration and organize the winter and end of year parties!

Have you heard your child mention anything about an app called Beanstack? It was introduced in the Media Center. Beanstack is a digital reading log that students can use to log the number of minutes they are reading. They can earn badges and rewards along the way. If your child is reading at school, home, daycare, etc. they can log their minutes and help us get closer to our goal. The following is a video explaining how to use Beanstack from home. Each week the PE department will choose 4 All Star Athletes (2 students & 2 staff members). If your student enjoys hiking, swimming, baseball, softball, football, biking, etc. Please email a picture to marzetti@fultonschools.org.
