Communication is the key to a positive partnership between the Glen Loch staff and our Gator families. We want to make you aware of a small change in how we relay information regarding behaviors that occur at school — specifically behaviors in the classroom that may impede your child’s learning or the learning of others.
Instead of writing notes in the daily folder, we will now contact you by phone. This will allow us to have a conversation about the behavior and work together to find solutions that help prevent the behavior from continuing.
Thank you for your support and partnership!
Best,
Kris Smith

NWEA MAP
The NWEA MAP Family Toolkit is an online resource designed to help families better understand MAP Growth and how it supports student learning. It includes short, easy-to-follow videos that explain the test’s design, what the testing experience is like for students, and how MAP Growth tracks progress over time. The toolkit also features a helpful article introducing the Family Report, which will be sent home after each testing window, along with a guide that explains how the test works, what it measures, and how scores are determined—all in language that is family-friendly.
NWEA MAP GROWTH FAMILY GUIDE
The NWEA Family Guide to MAP Growth, also found within the Family Toolkit, is a printable resource that clearly explains how the assessment works, what it measures, and how to interpret student scores.
NWEA MAP GROWTH PARENT FAQ
The MAP Growth Score Parent FAQ contains helpful FAQs to share with parents.
MAP Growth Assessment Family Reports have been uploaded to the Conroe ISD Home Access Center (HAC). The MAP Growth Family Report summarizes how your student is performing academically, as measured by the most recent MAP Growth test taken. To access the MAP Growth Family Report in HAC, navigate to the District Applications tab and click on "MAP Testing Reports". To learn more about the MAP Growth test, you can view the What is MAP Growth Video for Families (English) or Qué es MAP Growth-Video for families (Spanish). Student Attendance Expectations
Attendance
Regular attendance is essential for your child's academic growth, starting from preschool and kindergarten.
Missing just 10% of school (about 2 days a month) can cause students to fall behind, particularly in key areas like reading.
Missing one or two days every few weeks can quickly add up and make it harder to catch up on missed material.
Being late or leaving early also disrupts the learning process and negatively impacts overall attendance.
When students are absent, teachers may need to slow down the pace to help catch them up, which can affect the entire class.
By prioritizing consistent attendance, you’re giving your child the best chance to thrive academically and stay on track throughout the school year.
Check-In: Please bring a government-issued ID to the front desk to sign in and receive a visitor’s badge. Be sure to wear it visibly throughout your time on campus.
-
Seating: Once in the lunchroom, please sit at the designated visitors’ table with your child(ren), as space is limited at the student tables.
-
Spending Time with Your Child: We understand this is a special moment, so we kindly ask that you only sit with your child during lunch.
-
Sign-Out: After lunch, please return to the front office to sign out with our staff.
-
Photos: We kindly request that if you take a picture, it is only of your child. No videos please.
Lunch times:
10:55 - 3rd/4th Grades
11:30 - 1st/2nd Grades
12:05 - PK/KG/ECSE 4s

Glen Loch Counselor Form 2025-2026💚
Hello Glen Loch Parents! I am Melissa Bernu, the School Counselor at Glen Loch Elementary. My role on campus is to work with students, parents, and teachers to provide a positive school environment where students can become life long learners.
One part of the counseling program is coordinating resources for students throughout the year. In order to meet the needs of our students, I will need a little information from parents.
This form will help guide me in creating group counseling along with providing families with resources that they need.
Thank you,
Melissa Bernu

Sinceramente,

Nurse's Corner
We would like to inform you that Conroe ISD Child Nutrition will be introducing Pollock Fish Wedges and Fish Stick Baskets for all grade levels, starting Wednesday, February 18, 2026. These menu items will be available monthly until the end of the school year.
To ensure your student's safety, it is important to avoid sharing food. Sharing can lead to health risks, such as cross-contamination and the spread of germs. Additionally, it can violate school rules designed to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students.
We kindly ask that you remind your student of the importance of not sharing food items while on campus.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Cough Drops & Lozenges are not allowed to be carried on person while on campus. If the student is in need of cough drops, CISD requires that they be checked into the clinic as they are considered medication.
Texas law requires that children receive vision and hearing screenings at certain points in their school years:
Kindergarten and preschool children must receive a vision screening at the start of kindergarten or preschool.
1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades:
Children must receive a vision screening at some point during the school year.
First-time entrants:
Children who are new to school must receive a vision and hearing screening within 120 days of starting school.
These screenings are required for children enrolled in public, private, parochial, or denominational schools, as well as licensed childcare facilities for children ages 4 and up. The screenings are free for families and are performed in the school setting.
If a problem is detected during a screening, the child will be referred to an eye care professional for a more thorough exam.
If you have any questions, please call the nurse at 281-298-4915.
