ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dear Cougar Cub Families,
This year has been off to a great start. Our students are deeply engaged in learning and actively participating in their lessons.
A special shout-out to the Cole Cougars Football Team and Cheerleaders who came out on Thursday to greet our students! That kind of positive impact makes a real difference to our Cougar Cubs, and we are so grateful for their support.
We also have some incredible news from our school grounds: all of our brand-new playgrounds are now officially complete and ready for use! Our students have been so excited and are already having a blast exploring and playing on the new equipment.
As our daily routine settles in, parent drop-off and pick-up are starting to move much more smoothly—thank you for your patience and efficiency! A few quick arrival updates:
Drop-off Timing: Parent drop-off doors close promptly at 7:40 AM, which is when instruction begins.
Car Seat Helpers: If your child is in a car seat and needs assistance getting buckled, please pull all the way forward to the furthest yellow gate so we do not hold up the rest of the drop-off line.
On-Post Families: To help ease traffic around the school, I strongly encourage our families living on post to take advantage of our school bus transportation. It’s a safe, reliable, and convenient way for students to arrive on time!
Finally, as we head into September, we are recognizing National Emergency Preparedness Month. Safety is always our top priority, both at school and at home. One simple yet effective step is to establish a family code word or phrase—giving children a secure way to verify who is safe to travel with in an emergency. If you haven't set one up yet, I encourage you to take a few minutes this weekend to create one together.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Have a restful weekend!
We Are FSHE. We Are Cougar Cubs on a Mission!
With Cougar Cub Pride,
Your Principal 🐾💚💛

News from FSHE
Hello Cougar Cub Families,
Here at FSHES we have 7 core character traits that are represented by House Colors. Each student and staff member are assigned one of the following colors and traits: Green House- Responsibility, Blue House- Trustworthiness, Purple House- Citizenship, Yellow House- Respect, Red House- Caring, Gray House- Honesty, and Orange House- Fairness. Our first Character Trait focus is Responsibility. Responsibility at home, school , and community are important because it builds trust, ensures safety, and helps everyone succeed together. When we practice responsibility in different areas of our lives, we create a positive chain reaction:
- At Home: It strengthens family bonds. Doing chores without being asked shows you care for your environment. Taking care of your things saves money and prevents clutter.
- At School: It drives personal and academic growth. Turning in work on time helps you learn and shows respect for your teacher's time. Following classroom rules keeps the environment focused and safe for everyone.
- In the Community: It creates a cleaner, safer neighborhood. Picking up litter protects local wildlife and keeps spaces beautiful. Obeying public safety rules protects your neighbors and peers.
By focusing on Green House traits, you show that you can be counted on to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. At FSHES we believe that having a monthly Character focus builds a predictable, positive learning climate that transforms individual behavior into a collaborative school identity.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting the growth and success of our Cougar Cubs!
Please reach out to your child's grade level counselor if you would like more program information or if you need any assistance and or support.

Join PTO
Dear Parents and Families,
When you walk through our school doors, so much of the magic, joy, and extra fun our kids experience happens because of our PTO.
Our Parent-Teacher Organization works behind the scenes to support our amazing teachers and bring big smiles to our students' faces. Joining the PTO is the single best way to stay connected, support our educators, and make a direct impact on your child's school experience.
What Our PTO Does
Supports Our Teachers: From providing support in preparing activities to organizing staff appreciation lunches, we make sure our educators feel valued every single day.
Adds the "Fun Factor": We fund and organize the extra events, field trips, classroom supplies, and school-wide celebrations that turn ordinary school days into lasting memories.
Delivers Everyday Joy: Whether it’s surprise snack carts for teachers, pop-up treats for students, or reward incentives for hard work, we love spreading a little extra happiness around campus.
How You Can Get Involved
You don't need hours of free time to make a difference! Joining doesn't mean committing to endless meetings or volunteering for every event—it simply means joining a community dedicated to making our school the best it can be. Whether you can lend a hand for one hour a month, donate supplies, or simply offer your ideas, your support matters.

Cole Football Schedule
As you know, we support our Cole High School students. The football schedule has been added to our newsletter.
When attending the games, we ask that our elementary aged students remain with their parents. We want to ensure they are safe at all times. Running, throwing the football, or hiding under the bleachers are not allowed during the football games.
Our Cole Cougars will participate in the Peanut Butter Bowl which is a manner to "feed people through football." Our Cougar Cubs assist in collecting and donating jars of peanut butter. We begin collecting peanut butter during Meet the Teacher (August 11).
