End of Year Assessments End of Year Assessments

This week we begin our end of year assessments for our young scholars. Students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade will be taking both their iReady Reading and their iReady Math diagnostic assessments. Our hope is that every student will grow at minimal 15 points, target 30. Please support your child by having them log onto Schoology this weekend to show you their previous scores and speak about ways to improve their scores this time. Our students made significant growth from their BOY (beginning of year) to MOY (middle of year) as I explained on our previous newsletter. I know they can do even better this time around!

The Attendance Challenge

If you signed up for Summer School and are in need of the Beyond the Bell extended day care, please be sure to fill out the entire paper application, including the cardiac card. Per Claudia (BTB Coach and Site Supervisor), students may not stay after Summer School on the first day until BTB confirms with you that your child is enrolled. Simply turning in an application is not an automatic enrollment. If you have a direct and/or specific question, please reach out to Claudia. (818) 808-3361

Corner of Multnomah/Indiana Corner of Multnomah/Indiana

Regardless to whether or not we have someone standing at the corner, by now everyone should know the drill. Please remember that you may not idle in the RED ZONE on Multnomah Street, waiting to turn onto Indiana Avenue. When you sit at the red zone, not only is it illegal, but the public transportation often will pass the bus stop, forcing our senior neighbors, and bus rider with young children, to miss their stop. Last week, the bus decided to drop off the riders in the middle of the street because our valet drivers were blocking the bus stop. A senior neighbor almost got hit by a car going up Multnomah, trying to pass the valet traffic. Please kindly remember to leave the bus zone open.
