The fun day at school today in celebration of Eagle Run Success!
From the Rosewood Foundation
"Congratulations to Kyleigh Gibson for being selected as a member of the South Carolina Elementary Honor Choir! She will perform in a concert with singers from across South Carolina in February." The audition process was highly selective, and we are so proud of Kyleigh!"
Our October read aloud was Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds .
This is a funny and slightly spooky story about Jasper Rabbit, who loves eating carrots from Crackenhopper Field—until he begins to suspect that the carrots are following him. Were the carrots really following Jasper...or was it just his imagination? Talk about this with your Eagle...the feelings Jasper had were real (even if it was just his imagination).
Ms. Peyton's class created creepy carrots!
As the season of giving approaches, we are once again called to uplift our school community by supporting those in need. Many Richland One families continue to face challenges, including food insecurity, but together we can make a difference in a meaningful way. This year, Richland One is proud to once again partner with the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department and Harvest Hope Food Bank to host the 2027 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Honor the Dream Food Drive. Food Drive Details Dates: October 12, 2026 - November 13, 2026

If your child needs to go home a different way than normal:
- Send a note or email their teacher AND the front office! It has to be in writing!
- If the person picking up in car rider or walker line is NOT on your pick up list, IT HAS TO BE IN WRITING (via email or handwritten) by the parent for them to pick up and you will need to include their name and contact information.
- Last, but certainly not least, PLEASE do not call a change in after 1:45 and unless their is a doctors appointment or emergency and do not do an early pickup after 2:00pm. We want to make sure your child is in the right location to get home safely and avoid confusion. Thank you!
