CONGRATULATIONS to the newest inductees of the Alpha Griffins Chapter of the National Honor Society! These students have joined the elite group of learners from across the nation that have demonstrated excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. They will continue to carry on the traditions and services of our NHS chapter in the school and community!

A huge THANK YOU to the residents of 13th & Dickinson and our Home & School President, Alex Du for allowing Palumbo to be the fundraising benefactor on Friday night! Our NHS volunteers and parents braved the cold with Santa & The Grinch and raised $1272 for Palumbo in three hours!

The Lady Griffins Volleyball team, along with Coach Goldstein and their families celebrated the end of their bittersweet 2025 season at the 2nd annual Girls Volleyball banquet! A great time was had honoring the accomplishments of the JV and Varsity teams.

• Arcadia Dual Enrollment Deadline EXTENDED! There is still time for students to apply to dual enrollment at Arcadia–the hard deadline is now Monday, 12/15. Please encourage students to complete their applications now! Reach out to dualenrollment@philasd.org with questions.
• Fab Youth Philly, Teen Lifeguard Certification Application: Students looking to build career-ready skills should apply to Fab Youth Philly's Teen Lifeguard Certification job training program! Accepted students will be paid a $500 stipend for lifeguard certification lessons and for participating in required classes taught by Parks and Rec and Fab Youth Philly. Interested students can learn more about eligibility and apply at this link.
• Hand2Paw Internship Opportunity: Hand2Paw provides paid internships working with rescue animals as a way to strengthen connection, compassion, and community for young adults from underrepresented communities, including those experiencing housing insecurity or foster care involvement. Juniors and seniors who are proficient in English and another language should apply for the Seal of Bilitercy. Application is open now until 12/16. Palumbo will set up language proficiency tests for all the applicants between January and March. See the attached flyer to join the Seal of Biliteracy Google classroom. If your student is new to Palumbo, and has a 504 Plan please reach out to their counselor to ensure that we have a copy of the plan. This is especially important for students coming from non-school district schools. The 504 plans do not automatically transfer to us from outside of the district.

You may use this electronic form to submit an excuse for your child's absence from school within three days of the absence. A doctors note must be provided after three consecutive days of absence. After 9 parental excuses, a doctors note will be required. Be sure to complete each section below to ensure the excuse is accepted. Written notes are also accepted in the main office. All request are subject to administrative approval.
