"Human beings change through study, habit, and stories... when you’re driven, whatever is in front of you...becomes fuel for your metamorphosis."

~ David Goggins (from Can't Hurt Me)

Adversity creates opportunity, opportunity initiates action, and action establishes change. None of us likes to encounter hardship, especially when it's so uncomfortable or beyond what we think we can handle. It's human nature to impose limits on ourselves, but it's the human experience that shows us our limits are much higher than we want to admit. When we realize we're far more capable than we dare to believe, we are more willing to confront the obstacles in front of us because we believe they can be overcome.

Most of us don't welcome hardship with open arms (David Goggins does...). When we see our children face challenges, what is our gut reaction? Often, we want to save and rescue. We know our children will confront difficulties when they're older, so while they're young, we want to protect them as much as possible. How well your children navigate the ups and down of life through adolescence and into adulthood is based on the foundation of confidence, determination, and resilience laid today. Help them build that foundation sooner rather than later.

Happy start to November!
