HELP US Grow Minds One Book at a Time (Please donate)
When you GIVE to the Literacy Coalition of Oswego County, (LCOC), you’re helping literacy services for everyone in our county from preschoolers to retirees.
ONE of the community initiatives your donation will support is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, gifting books to children from birth until their fifth birthday.
Our enrollment goal for this year is to enroll 50% of the eligible children in the county in the Imagination Library.
Won’t you please keep these vital efforts growing by making a tax-deductible donation to LCOC? We’re partners with the Weston T. Hyde Foundation, a 501( c ) 3 non-profit.

How can you get involved in LCOC?
The Literacy Coalition of Oswego County (LCOC) is looking to increase membership and participation in its Providers Network Committee. LCOC’s Providers Committee meets quarterly via Zoom to build awareness of services, identify needs, and strengthen collaboration. It is a terrific opportunity to learn about available services and service providers and create greater awareness of the services your organization provides to the community. The schedule for the 2023 LCOC Providers Network Committee meeting is:
- Friday, 9/29/23 from 8:30 – 10:00
- Friday, 12/08/23 from 8:30 – 10:00
If you would like to participate in LCOC’s Providers Network please contact Paul Gugel at pgugel@citiboces.org or 315-963-4291
We look forward to working together with you and your organization to improve literacy in Oswego County!
Meet Mary Curcio- LCOC Chair of Fundraising Committee
Where do you work, how long have you been there and what is your job title?
I’m a retired school administrator currently working as the Interim Executive Director for Victory Transformation. I’ve been in this position for around four months.
Why did you become involved in LCOC?
Even though I was a high school math teacher, my passion as a school administrator was developing literacy skills for students. I know that literacy is key to a child’s future. When I retired back home to Oswego County, I wanted to continue some role in my community and literacy. I found the Literacy Council of Oswego County and joined the group.
What are you most proud of as a member of LCOC?
I would say as a member of LCOC, I am most proud of the work we have done with bringing the Imagination Library to families in Oswego County. I would like to see next for LCOC is have more awareness of our group in the community.
What's the title of the last book you read?
The last book I read was Cilka’s Journey by Heather Morris.
What brings you joy?
My four children and 15 grandchildren. They are the main reason I came back home to retire in Oswego County.
