🩺 Nurse’s Notes: The Finish Line!
💊 Medication Pick-Up
If your student has medication or supplies in the clinic, please arrange to pick them up by the end of the year.
DEADLINE: Friday, May 22nd (by the end of the student school day).
ADULT ONLY: For safety, an adult must sign out all meds. We cannot send medication home in backpacks.
DISPOSAL: Per policy, any items left after dismissal on May 22nd will be discarded. We cannot store medications over the summer.
Help Us Stock Our Clinic Closet!
As we look toward the end of the school year, we are already preparing to keep our clinic closet stocked for the next one. Accidents happen, and we want to ensure every student has what they need to feel comfortable and get back to class quickly.
We are currently seeking donations for the following items:
New boys’ underwear (all sizes)
New or gently used black leggings (all sizes)
New or gently used black shorts (all sizes)
New or gently used gender-neutral bottoms or sweatpants (all sizes)
Nurse's Tip:
☀️ Summer Ready: Sun & Bug Safety
As we head into summer break, remember the "Slip, Slop, Slap" rule for outdoor fun:
Slip on a shirt.
Slop on SPF 30+ sunscreen. Mineral based sunscreens with Zinc Oxide are best. Examples include brands like: Badger Kids/Baby, Blue Lizard Kids (Mineral), ThinkBaby / ThinkSport, and Babo Botanicals
Slap on a hat!
Tick Check: After playing in tall grass or wooded areas, do a "tick check" on your students. Early detection is the best way to prevent Lyme disease.
🗓️ Looking Ahead: 2026-2027 School Year

Life-Saving Care: All supplies and forms must be in the clinic before your student's first day.
Drop-offs: I will email you in late summer to schedule a medication drop-off appointment.
Summer Contact: I will be on break from May 23 – August 10. For urgent matters, contact Marcia Stewart (Health Services Coordinator) at marcia_stewart@plsd.us.
