DFP Family Update
June 5, 2026
Have a Wonderful Weekend - we have one full week left together!
We have an exciting week ahead filled with fun activities, including music with Stacey Peasley and Field Day on Thursday!
As we head into the warmer days of summer, please remember to send your child to school each day with sunscreen already applied and a refillable water bottle.
We are looking forward to making the most of these final days together through learning, play, and special celebrations with friends. Thank you for your continued support and partnership throughout the year.
Enjoy your weekend,
Julie Martin
The Week of June 15
Looking Ahead:
Monday, June 15: Regular schedule day for all students at DFP
Tuesday, June 16: Early Release at 11:00 am and LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT ATTEND DFP ON WEDNESDAYS
Wednesday, June 17: LAST DAY OF PRESCHOOL - usual schedule for all students who come on Wednesdays, dismissal at 11:00 am
Thank You Walpole DPW and Water Department!
Students had a wonderful time exploring, climbing aboard, and “driving” the big trucks on Tuesday. We extend our sincere thanks to the Walpole DPW and Water Department for their generosity and for taking the time to share their vehicles with our preschool students. This special experience provided an exciting hands-on learning opportunity that our students thoroughly enjoyed.
Reminder June 16 is an Early Release Day at 11:00 AM due to FIFA
School Committee approved an early release day on June 16. June 16 will now be observed as an early release day, and all schools will dismiss at their regular early dismissal time. This adjustment reflects the unique scale of this (the FIFA World Cup) international event and is not reflective of typical stadium-related activities.
Daniel Feeney Preschool will dismiss at 11:00am
DFP Field Day, Thursday June 11
Our preschool "Field Day" is also a hit! This outdoor play day is filled with games, bubbles, music, and a LOT of water play! Your child's teacher will contact you with what to pack that day, but a towel is a certainty!
*Please be sure your child comes to school with sunscreen already applied.
Spring Reminders
As warmer temperatures approach, it is helpful to dress your student in layers. While the mornings can be cool, it is quickly starting to warm up! Also, sneakers and closed-toes shoes are best for running and jumping on the playground - please no flip flops as this is definitely a tripping hazard.
Finally, we are not allowed to apply sunscreen, big spray, etc. on your student. Please keep this in mind over these coming months - thank you.
Popsicle Event for Rising Kindergarten Students
Dear Families of Rising Kindergarten Students,
Your DFP student will be heading to Kindergarten soon! To help support this exciting transition, I invite you and your child to join us for a Popsicle on the Playground event. This will be a wonderful opportunity for children to connect with classmates who will be attending the same elementary school, while families have a chance to meet and celebrate this important milestone together.
If your student will be attending Fisher School or Boyden School, please come on Thursday, June 11, at 5:00.
If your student will be attending Old Post Road School or Elm Street School, please come on Monday, June 15 at 5:00.
Bring the whole family; I hope to see you there.
DFP Graduate Signs
We have lawn signs available for sale for those rising Kindergarten students. A sign is $20 and you can pay by cash or check (made out to Town of Walpole). Please direct payment to Julie Martin and I will arrange delivery of the sign with you.

Report cards and progress reports will be available for viewing on your Aspen account on June 17, 2026.
