Math Madness kicks off Monday! This academic competition is an awesome way to motivate our students to remember their math facts. Math Madness is an opportunity for all students to memorize math facts according to their grade level. As they walk the halls, wait to wrap up lunch, spend time at recess or wait in line to go to the Arts, they can recite their facts and get a badge.
Here is 4th Grade Student, Paris, modeling how to recite her "9" multiplication math facts!

Save the Dates: PSSA Testing, Grades 3-5
Our students and teachers have been working hard to increase reading and math performance, and we are eager to show off our skills! State testing is a requirement for all students. Their scores are sent to their future schools as part of the students' academic record, and our scores as a school are in part how we are measured among our public and charter peers.
They are very important and as we have in the past, we will celebrate our students' efforts with our motivational PSSA Carnival! To earn tickets for carnival games, students must:
- Arrive on time.
- Use resources they have been taught and that are available to them to help them, such as scratch paper, calculator, reference sheets and online tools.
- Taking their time; not finishing too soon.
- Being respectful of others by being quiet during and after testing.
We have practiced using the Online PSSA practice tests, called the Firefly. The scores, along with all K-5 iReady scores have been sent home by your child's teacher.
Students may only be exempt from testing for a religious reason. Parents who wish to exempt their child for this reason, must contact school administration and make an appointment to review the test in private, in order to specifically point out which aspect of the test is in conflict with your religious views.
VOLUNTEER FOR FIELD TRIPS & EVENTS!
