Gifted and Talented (GT) Referral Window Now Open!
Do you know a student who demonstrates exceptional intellectual or creative problem-solving abilities? Perhaps they might benefit from services through the Gainesville ISD’s Gifted and Talented (GT) program. The GT program provides advanced, differentiated learning experiences designed to meet the unique needs of students with exceptional potential.
Gainesville ISD’s Gifted and Talented (GT) referral window for the 2025–2026 school year is now open through November 1, 2025.
Referrals may be submitted by parents, teachers, community members, or—at the secondary level—by the students themselves. The identification process includes referral, screening, assessment, and placement, with final decisions made by the Campus GT Selection Committee.
To submit a referral or learn more, visit the GT program website link or access the GT Referral Form directly.
Additional questions? Feel free to reach out to Dr. Christina Dearman, Advanced Academics Coordinator at cdearman@gainesvilleisd.org

🌟 Heart & Hustle Recognition + Grade-Level Meetings 🌟
GJH celebrated students who truly embody Heart & Hustle
—those who go above and beyond in the classroom and on campus. We’re proud to recognize their effort, perseverance, and positive attitude!
Our 7th & 8th grade students came together for their grade-level meeting. These meetings give us a chance to celebrate accomplishments, set goals, and keep building that Leopard Pride .
We are so proud of all our students for showing what it means to lead with heart and hustle every day!

Students at GIS became astronomers as they explored how the Earth’s rotation creates changing shadow patterns throughout the day. Using sundials they built themselves, they collected data at different times and even observed the Sun safely using protective glasses.
*** Chalmers Elementary ***
Our staff had a great time playing lotería throughout the day on Friday. Congratulations to all of our winners. A big shoutout to Taco Casa, El Tapatío, Hills Café, Mt. Creek Ranch, and Sonic for their generous donations that made this an even bigger win for everyone.

Community Events
Nominate at GISD staff member for a High Five Award!
The Leopard High Five program is a way to salute any Gainesville ISD employee who goes above and beyond for our students, staff, and community. Whether you are a parent impressed with a specific interaction with your child, or you are a coworker who thinks the campus secretary doesn't hear often enough about the great job she is doing - you can send a Leopard High Five! Nominations can be made by any staff member, parent, or community member, and any GISD employee is eligible to be nominated for a High Five.
All nominations should include a specific example of how this staff member has gone above and beyond for a student, a peer, or the community and must align with one or more of our GISD core beliefs: Equity, Excellence, Diversity, Innovation, Partnership, Safe and Comfortable Environment.
