April Update @ Pekin Elementary

As we move through the school year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and partnership in your child’s education. It has been wonderful to see students growing, learning, and embracing new challenges each day.

This week, our 3rd-6th grade students will begin state assessments. These tests provide valuable insight into student progress and help us tailor our instruction to best meet their needs. To set our students up for success, we encourage families to establish good bedtime routines, ensuring children get plenty of rest. With the weather warming up and daylight hours increasing, we know it’s tempting to stay outside longer, but a consistent sleep schedule is essential for focus and energy during the school day. Additionally, starting the day with a nutritious breakfast will help students stay alert and ready to do their best.

Attendance continues to play a crucial role in student success, and we appreciate your efforts in ensuring your child is at school each day, ready to learn. If your child needs to be absent, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we want to stay connected and support them in any way we can.
