If you have driven past Salford Hill recently, you saw that the building is still buzzing with construction and people getting the space ready for students on August 26th. The construction crews have worked all summer and we are in the final stretch before school begins.

Since the last Wednesday Message a week ago, there has been much progress:

• Windows are being installed
• Painters are starting to make the rooms look great
• Carpet is being installed
• Cabinetry is being installed
• New HVAC and electrical is being completed

The progress will continue over the next few days until school begins on August 26! We look forward to seeing everyone in their new spaces.

Welcome to Salford Hills Elementary School! We look forward to you joining our Salford Hills Family! We will be having an orientation for parents and children who will be in grades 1-5 on August 25, 2025 at 5:30pm. Kindergarten students will have their own separate orientation on August 25th at 4:00.

Our New Family Orientation for students in grades 1-5 new to Salford Hills will include an information session and a brief tour of the school depending on construction safety at the time.

Our kindergarten students and families will have their Kindergarten Orientation on August 25th from 4:00-5:00. This will be an opportunity for kindergarten students and their families to come see their classroom, and drop off any school materials they might have so they are not lugging a heavy backpack on the first day of school. Kindergarten students will also be able to pick up their special first day of school t-shirt! Kindergarten students will wear this shirt on the first day of school so that our staff can pick them out right off the bus and car rider line and get them to their classrooms safely. This event is meant to be a casual visit between 4:00 and 5:00. Stay for as long or as little as you need to in order to make your child feel comfortable and ready for the first day of school.

• In order to ensure proper communication with parents, it is critical that we have current contact information on record. Updates to mailing address information must be presented in person at the Souderton Area School District Registration Office. Updates to phone numbers and e-mail address information must be provided in writing to your child(ren)'s school.
  

Please complete and return the Back-to-School 2025-2026 Information Review, available at the link below, for each of your children that attend Souderton Area School District. The review includes required policy and procedure agreements, as well as important weather-related and health information.

Completed forms should be returned to your child’s school no later than Tuesday, August 26th, 2025.

School is just around the corner, and the District has been busy preparing student 1-to-1 devices for instructional use during the upcoming school year. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, there is a new process for how families will receive their annual student/parent mobile device use agreement/fee. Families will receive an e-mail from Souderton Area SD (webstores@revtrak.net) with an invoice for their student’s mobile device fee. The subject of the e-mail will be "Fee Invoice".

Families will be able to complete their agreement/pay their fee online through the District’s Online Payments system. For families who would like to pay their invoice via cash/check, agreements can be printed and payment made in-person.

Families will receive instructions for completing the agreement and paying the fee via e-mail on the date invoices are sent. No action is necessary today.

Devices will be distributed to students during the first week of school.

Please complete the below information if you choose to pick up your child(ren) as a daily car rider. A car rider once or twice can be handled with a simple note to the office on the morning of the change.
Upon completing this information, you will receive a school-issued name placard for each person listed. The name placard must be placed on the driver side dashboard, so it is visible through the front windshield of your vehicle. Children will only be allowed to leave in vehicles with school-issued name tags. If you do not have the placard, you will be asked to pull forward to physically sign out your child.

Mark your calendars for Back to School Night September 4th from 6:30 to 8:00.

• August 25 - New Family Orientation Night 5:30-6:30 PM
• This night is intended for families with students in grades 1-5 who are brand new to Salford Hills. Students and families will get a tour of the school and learn what to expect in the first days of school.

• August 25- Kindergarten Orientation 4:00-5:00 PM
• This night is intended for kindergarten students to drop off school supplies before the first day of school, pick up their kindergarten t-shirt they will wear on the first day of school, and see their classroom to become comfortable with their experience on the first day of school.

• August 26 - School Opens!

• August 29 and September 1 - School Closed (Labor Day Holiday)

• September 4 - Back to School Night 6:30-8:30 PM

If you have any interest in potentially volunteering at any time throughout the school year, please fill out the Google form below! There will plenty of opportunities to get involved both in the classroom and at after school events. There is no commitment by filling out the form -- it simply adds you to the email list to be notified about volunteer opportunities!
