Vista Unified School District’s Performing Arts Under the Stars was a tremendous success, bringing our community together for four unforgettable evenings at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. A remarkable 1,903 students from 20 schools performed in 60 acts, showcasing an incredible range of talent from kindergarten through 12th grade. Each evening featured an exciting mix of performances—from choirs, bands, and mariachi to musical theatre, hip hop, and vibrant cultural dances including ballet folklórico and Filipino dance. With large, enthusiastic audiences filling the venue each night, the event was a powerful reflection of the strong support for the arts across our community.

The celebration continues with Visual Arts Under the Stars at the Vista Civic Center Gallery. The community is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Wednesday, April 15 at 4:30 p.m., where outstanding middle and high school artists will be recognized. We hope you will join us in honoring the creativity and talent of our students. The exhibition will remain on display April 15 through May 6.

“A-G” Aligned Graduation Requirement Update “A-G” Aligned Graduation Requirement Update

At Vista Unified School District, we continue to bring our Pulse of Possibility to life through our Framework for the Future by aligning graduation requirements to the A–G course sequence required for admission to both the University of California (UC) and the California State University (CSU) systems. This alignment begins with our current 9th grade students, the Class of 2029, and reflects the strong foundation that has long supported student success across our schools. By ensuring all students complete A–G coursework, we are building on that foundation to expand access and keep a wide range of opportunities available to every graduate. This work is grounded in our commitment to high-quality instruction and meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for both college and career. Through MY PLAN, students connect their learning to their interests, goals, and future possibilities while actively shaping their path forward. Together, these efforts reflect our belief that when strong teaching and purposeful pathways come together, every student is positioned to thrive. With 1st semester complete, VUSD is actively reviewing student progress and strengthening supports to ensure all students are on track toward this new standard. Additional details outlining VUSD’s A–G aligned graduation requirements, including California state requirements and UC/CSU minimums, are provided in the accompanying graphic.
