Tidbits from the Trainer
Outstanding Sports Medicine Student Award
It is with great enthusiasm that Violet Peltier is nominated for the Children’s Hospital Colorado “Outstanding Sports Medicine Student” award. With nearly four years of dedication to sports at Pueblo West High School and community outreach through her church, Violet has consistently gone above and beyond to support and care for others.
Violet Peltier is a distinguished three-year letter winner in both football and boys’ lacrosse, excelling in the roles of manager, student trainer, and statistician. Her exceptional leadership and compassionate approach have significantly enhanced the management of these programs, setting a high standard for her peers. As Clint Buderus, Head Football Coach at Pueblo West High School, aptly states, “Violet has been an invaluable asset across multiple roles. Her leadership as a manager has fostered a culture of excellence, and her unwavering dedication as a student trainer has inspired and elevated those around her. Her impact on our programs is both measurable and immeasurable, leaving a lasting mark on our success.”
Tyler Torres, Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Pueblo West High School, also speaks highly of Violet's contributions: “Violet has managed the team for as long as I have coached here, and she has done an exceptional job. Her duties included field setup and cleanup, stat recording, and anything else that was asked of her by the coaches and players. The best thing about Violet is that I only need to tell her once what I need done, and she typically goes above and beyond those requests. Her work ethic, commitment to the program, and positive attitude will be greatly missed.”
In addition to her tangible achievements, Violet embodies the qualities of an exemplary leader. She is deeply committed to fostering empathy, mentorship, and continuous learning. Violet has diligently mastered various taping techniques to enhance the prevention and care of athletes at Pueblo West High School and has recently obtained certification in CPR/AED and First Aid through the American Heart Association. Her academic ambitions are equally impressive, as she has been accepted into the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, where she plans to pursue a degree in sports medicine with a focus on athletic training. Her ability to inspire and empower others has been instrumental in cultivating a community of sport managers and student trainers, all of whom consistently strive for excellence under her guidance.
