Hello Timber Families,

What a wonderful week we’ve had at River Mill! We had a fantastic time celebrating Read Across America Week, and it was so much fun seeing our students dress up each day in honor of reading. We also marked a major milestone—our 100th day of school! It’s incredible to see how much our students have learned and grown this year.

A big thank you to all the families who joined us Thursday morning to celebrate our students who received the Standard of Excellence award for Innovation. It was inspiring to recognize their creativity, problem-solving, and forward-thinking skills. We are so proud of them!

Looking ahead, we have Student-Led Conferences coming up on Monday, March 31st, and Tuesday, April 1st. This is a great opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning and share their progress with you. In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days are for invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let us know!

We are excited to invite you to Student-Led Conferences on Monday, March 31st, from 12:00–7:30 PM, and Tuesday, April 1st, from 8:00 AM–3:30 PM. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning by sharing their progress, achievements, and goals with you. It’s a great way to celebrate their hard work and discuss next steps for continued growth. We encourage all families to attend and support their child’s learning journey. Did you know that many of our youngest students miss about 10% of the school year—around 14 days, or just two days a month? This level of chronic absenteeism in elementary school can predict lower test scores and challenges with retention in later grades. Every day and every minute of school matters, contributing to your child's growth and success!
