NOTICE: Our new MRSD website is up and running~Check out the Portrait of a Graduate information on the new site!

MRSD Website:

Our world ‒ and the future we are preparing students for ‒ is changing at an exponential rate. In such a rapidly changing world, is what we teach, how we teach, and what we assess students on today best preparing our graduates for their futures tomorrow? Our Portrait of a Graduate process will help answer that question, and in doing so, better prepare all Monomoy students for the future.

Monomoy's Portrait of a Graduate is a collection of skills, attributes, and characteristics that we are committed to developing in each of our students from preschool through to graduation.

Thank you Ms. Jordan, MRSD Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, for all your work on the new website!

Thank you to Ms. Durant for recommending the WIDA Self-Paced Workshops:

The Department's Office of Language Acquisition is offering a set of WIDA Self-Paced Workshops to Massachusetts educators at no cost. The workshops can be mixed and matched to suit individual educator needs or teams of educators in professional learning communities. Educators are also invited to explore the menu of facilitated WIDA workshops. These workshops have limited enrollment that opens about a month before each workshop. WIDA certificates can be applied toward licensure renewal professional development points (PDPs) for English as a Second Language or Sheltered English Immersion. A WIDA Secure Portal Account is required for enrollment in any WIDA workshop and may be obtained from educators' district WIDA account coordinator (Robin Millen, rmillen@monomoy.edu). The following titles are just a few of the available, free options.

Dear Friends:

Join us on October 18, 7:00pm for an interactive discussion of climate solutions using MIT’s well-regarded En-Roads Climate Solutions Simulator. We will work together to simulate a combination of actions that would reduce future warming to safer levels. David Mazumder from the Boston chapter will be our co-host. Registration is not required.

En-Roads is intended to spur deep conversations -- enriched by science -- about various ways to address climate change. It allows anyone with a web browser to see the impact of 18 different climate solutions on future global temperature. The attached 1-page quick guide describes the 18 possible actions.

If you’ve already seen En-Roads, you may be interested in new features like integration with Climate Central’s sea level rise maps
