Principal's Corner

Tutoring starts this week! Your child's teacher should have reached out to you if your child is going to stay for tutoring. We will do dismissal the same as regular dismissal- only 1 line. ALL PARENTS WILL PULL THROUGH THE ORANGE TAG LINE! Please have your dismissal cards ready. We will dismiss promptly at 4:20. We need all students picked up by 4:30!

DISMISSAL ANNOUNCEMENT! PLEASE READ!

Parents:

It is essential for you to pick your child(ren) up on time. We understand that there are times that things happen but picking up beyond 4:00 is not acceptable. Our staff has meetings as well as other family obligations to attend following the work day. When you are late, it holds everyone up from doing what they need to do. Please be mindful of this.

Dismissal will begin at 3:30 for the duration of the school year! Thank you for being patient as students learn the routines and procedures! Our goal everyday is a 3:45 end time for dismissal!

Please make sure that you are staying in your car and going through the car rider pickup. We need to keep the front clear for special situations, buses and daycare. Please review the following guidelines:

1) student transportation changes are accepted up to 2:00. If you have changes, the office AND teacher must be notified.
2) you MUST have your ID to pick up any child. Even if you have been to the school before. You will be required to have an ID to pick up a child from the office.
3) you MUST have a car tag to go through the car line. If you do not, you will proceed to the front office and get a new card. You will be required to wait until 3:50/3:55 when dismissal has ended to get your child.
4) no students will be called to the office during dismissal. You will have to wait for late pickup.
5). no students will be dismissed after 3:00 PM. If you are not at the school before 3 PM, you will be required to proceed through the dismissal line.

We also want to continue to remind you of the importance of your child being at school everyday! For the month of September, students that have perfect attendance will be put in a drawing for FREE gift cards or even a tablet! We will also do dress up days through the month of September!

Did you know?

Garland ISD has selected our campus to pilot an indoor air quality program with a company called Protect|ED. You have likely seen these Novaerus units in your classrooms. The goal is to improve the air quality on our campuses, support overall health and well-being, improve student/teacher productivity, and reduce absenteeism.

This proactive measure will reduce airborne contaminants, including pollen that causes allergies and asthma attacks, and neutralize viruses that cause the flu and other seasonal illnesses. The machine has electrostatic coils called NanoStike Technology that filter air through the top and bottom, killing the germs and blowing back out clean air. Unlike other air purifiers, it doesn't use the traditional filter, meaning there is no monthly recurring cost. Our custodian team will maintain the units monthly.

If you’re interested in learning more about Indoor Air Quality, and the unit, visit www.CleanAirInSchools.com
