πŸ‘Ÿ Fund Run πŸ‘Ÿ Fund Run

While the run may be over, it's not too late to contribute!

You can still donate by lap, or a flat amount, at tinyurl.com/Duniway26 through early next week.

Funds support so many parts of what makes Duniway great. The carnival. The variety show. The winter dance. Updated equipment and materials for PE, the library, and classrooms. And programs like Reading Results that play an essential role in ensuring students get the learning support they need. Thank you for supporting Duniway and spreading the word to friends and family!

Are you interested in acting? Do you love working behind the scenes to make magic happen on stage? Consider being a part of our upcoming Spring musical production of Charlotte’s Web!

There is a place for everyone in this spectacular show, and you don’t need to have your exact role figured out just yet.

🌟 For Our Students:

  • Backstage Crew: Open to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who want to build sets, manage props, and run the show behind the scenes.
  • Acting Team: Open to 4th and 5th graders ready to take the stage and perform.

🎭 For Our Parents & Adults:
A production this magical takes a village! We need a dedicated team of adult volunteers to make this show a success. This year, we are especially looking for adults to help promote and market the show to our community, alongside our usual backstage volunteer roles.

πŸ“„ Data Reports πŸ“„ Data Reports

Hopefully you all noticed the information in our recent Dispatch editions regarding the new student assessment information that is available to parents on Parent Vue. This information includes prior year assessment information from OSAS (Smarter Balanced Assessments) for students tested in Grades 3-5, MAP Assessments for students tested in grades 3-5 (no longer used) and I-Ready assessments in Math and Reading.

In addition to prior year assessments, the data portal also contained recent assessments results in the I-Ready Math Inform Assessment and the new I-Ready Reading Inform Assessment. All Duniway students took these assessments this September and some of you have reached out to your teachers about these results. While we do view these results carefully and use them to inform our support for each student, there are a few elements to keep in mind regarding these assessments. First, for this beginning of year assessment, students are expected to score at a level of the end of their previous grade (ie- we expect a Fifth Grade student to score at an end of Fourth Grade Level as they have not engaged in Fifth Grade content yet). Also, for younger students, especially in grades K and 1, we understand that their results can be influenced by a student's familiarity with taking a computer based assessment and understanding of the digital tools. Overall, our teachers use these results as one data point among many in assessing student proficiency. There will be ample opportunity to discuss a broad range of student data points at Parent Teacher Conferences in late November.

If you have any questions or would like more information about I-Ready Inform Assessment: , you can access information here:
